New Grower First Grow! (Biodiesel Mass)

1 that works. :Stones slap: Really its what can you afford. Like the old saying "you get what you pay for" but one that works is better than none at all. Hanna makes a decent 1 for around $60 you can get it all.

Day 64

The leaves got a little worse for two days after I started trying to help her but after that, the browning slowed and stopped. There are brown tips on all of my leaves, but they aren't getting bigger and I'm thinking that it has to do with how the plant has around two weeks left to live. The leaves may not be perfect, but the buds look great! Also, I just got a microscope that attaches to my phone so trichs below along with pics. Are the trichs clear or milky? I can't tell.

Thanks. I've already been using that link for reference, but it's great to know that someone else uses it as a guideline also.

Autos are diffrent to grow than Photos. They aren't very tolerant to mistakes. The AFN moderators are the best advise we can get. I would of screwed up my 1st grow if I hadn't read Muddy's thread. I waited till all my leaves were yellow and falling off before I harvested my Short Riders. I know it goes beyond what we hear about harvesting cannabis, but it works. Let the plant suck up all the nutrients out of the leaves. They will get fatter and fatter the last 10-14 days of pre-harvest flush. Don't rush it.

I've been reading (on account of someone in this thread mentioning it) that with organic nutes, you don't have to do a pre harvest flush. Do you happen to know anything about that?

Hate to butt in but the leaf edge curl and spots are called the claw, I think, from nute lock? Flush with mild bloom nutes, if I am right. My wife tells me that I have the taste buds of a snail living on a rock outside of a sewage treatment plant in New Jersey, so anything I say about taste should be ignored.

My opinion is pre-Harvest flushing even using organic nutrients is a good thing. In fact flushing your plants every so often will not do them any harm. I feel giving them a good flush the last 10-14 days helps with the final taste of the buds. We like to have the fan/bud leaves give them all the left over nutrients. Doing a pre-harvest flush does just that. Washes all the left over nutrients or what ever is in the soil. Some growers use molasses (carbo load) the plant; so the fan/bud leaves have that extra energy to give the bud sites. Somestimes giving the girls more water than usual will do the trick. It's not the amount of water, but the frequence the plant gets it that causes problems.

Remember the girls are trying to reproduce; they swell up because they are horny for pollen. They will use what ever energy to stay allive. The pre-harvest flush helps that.

I'm not an expert and I don't claim to be one; but flushing is helpful in any growing stage, but before harvest is always a good idea.

Your wife should do stand-up :crying:

I looked up the claw and every image included leaves curling down while mine curl up. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with watering and calcium/magnesium levels. I've seen plenty of other growers with my strain on the internet with curling/cal/mag problems and I've noticed that the leaves uncurl for a little while after I water the plant. You guys don't see that because I only take pics on watering days right after I water.
