New Grower First grow, humbled by the experience I seek help!

That should be fine on the transplanting. Soon as you get the pH meter we can test your soil and see if the yellowing is from pH or if they are just hungry.

I'm just using an $18, 1,500 watt heater from WalMart. Nothing fancy. This will be my 3rd winter with them and never had any issues.

Day 17

Hello all!!

Soooo... today is a great day! The ladies had no trouble from the extra nutes and they're growing faster and faster, already showing white filaments on the nodes..

I also bought the hanna ph tester and all the stuff I'll need to transfer them to 9l pots. I was planning on doing that today but the soil is still quite moist from the last feeding on monday, so perhaps it's better to wait until tomorrow?

A few pics following, any feedback will be most welcome!!

That's it for now, I'll post some more as soon as I'll be done transplanting them to their new pots!

Have a great day

Oh Shit, Urgent!!!

Hello all.. So apparently I spoke to soon yesterday.. Today I found a few (4/5) of the best plants with a bad case of yellow spots on the bottom leaves.. On one a leaf got really dry to the point that it could crack under pressure.. Last watering was Monday, I've been holding off until today but now I'm not sure what to do!
Should I water them? The soil is dry.. Nutes or no nutes?

Please any feedback or advice will be greatly appreciated..

Hey Muddy,

Sorry to keep bothering with noob issues..

I had some trouble (see the pics above) with more yellow stains on the lower leaves of 4 plants (some of the best ones), these leaves also appear to be extremely dry.. I checked with my new meter the pH going in (6.3) and the pH coming out from the pots (ranging from pot to pot between 5.9/6.2), does that mean anything in particular to you?

I ended up watering the girls again because it had been 4/5 days and they really seem to need it, the soil was really dry (my humidity has been hovering around 39/40%). I went suuuper easy with the new nutes giving them about .2ml/l (suggested dose was 1-3ml for atazyme and 1-5ml for terramax) and fed them a little less than 1l each (I stopped judging by the runoff at 10%).

Also, I was supposed to transplant them into bigger 9l pots today but I was afraid to stress the plants further so I decided to hold on. There's no root coming out of the pots yet but I can kinda see them between the clay pebbles..
Is that correct or should I just move them asap?

I hope they'll get better but I'm really lost here, any advice is welcome!!

Thank you for taking the time,

-natty

That was pretty good on the pH. Just a bit low. Next feeding go in a bit higher, around 6.5 for the pots that were at 6.2 and around 7 for the pots that were at 5.9.

I think at their age they just needed feeding. I would go just a bit higher next time, maybe .5 ml instead of .2.

Hey Muddy!

Thanks for stopping by.. After yesterday's bath the girls grew about 1 inch, it looks like they really needed it. I ended up buying a small humidifier to raise humidity and help stabilize the temperature shifts. The yellow stains look like they're there to stay, they even expanded a bit, but hopefully it will work from now on..

I see a lot of budsites starting to appear, at least that's what I think they are.. all an all I'm still very happy with what I'm seeing. On Monday I'll switch them to 9l pots and up the feeding to .5/l..

One more question: does it make sense to keep all 16 plants running? My tent is 120x120 and with 9l pots it's gonna turn into a jungle.. Would it make more sense to cull the weakest? I'll cry, but I'll do it if I must!

Cheers and have a great weekend,

It will be a bit tight but in that size pot you should have room to run all 16. If you were in bigger pots, say a full 3 gallon, then I'd probably say drop it to 12 plants.

Hello all,

everything looks back to normal.. The yellow spots are there to stay but the ladies are growing quicker and quicker and the watering + humidifier got the dry leaves looking healthy again. I'm starting to have a bit of trouble with heights because to of them are starting to outgrow the others. Next time I'll try scrogging for sure.. And oxygenated water.. And co2.. ahahah, it never ends!

Thanks Muddy and all for helping me along, it seriously makes the difference

Transplant!

Hello all!

Today it was a big day, the ladies moved to bigger pots and everything seems to have worked just fine. I hope I didn't disturb the roots, I tried to be as delicate as possible.. Then I watered them with about 1.5l each (thirsty bitches judging by the run-off). I kept the ph a bit higher (6.5) as Muddy suggested but I kept the nutes at .4/l because I was told Pragon lightmix (in the new 9l pots) already has some nutes mixed in..

Here's a pic of the roots on one of the Pandoras, did I wait to long to move them?? The roots look quite packed!

I'm still seeing some discoloration happening in the leaves.. I'll post pics tomorrow, hopefully the new setup will help.

Cheers
