New Grower First Grow - MI5 - Blackstar 240w - Coco/perlite buckets.

Starting a journal for my first 'real' grow. After doing a ton of reading and research on these great forums decided to start out with a Blackstar 240w in 50/50 coco/perlite hempy buckets.

Started to germ 4 MI5 female seeds yesterday, along with assembling and setting up my area.

No pictures yet, now I get to wait for my seeds to pop

Nice look forward to some pics, you can look at my grow log, i use three 240 watt blackstars
Just a heads up, keep that LED kinda high from the top of the plants, to close and it will stunt them. i am now keeping mine about 20 inch above during veg then about week 4 i will keep them about 12 to 14 inchs above the top

Dang, this is your first journal and you've been around since July of last year? Hopefully all of that time reading will pay off. Glad you got one started I will be looking forward to seeing how it goes for you. Oh and just my default I'm gonna get Muddy or JM to move this over to the New Growers Forum, I think it would be easier to help you out that way and this is your first grow. Good luck, mate.

Yeah thanks, I've been interested in trying for the better part of a year now. I rushed in unprepared the true first time and tried to do everything bare minimum.

This time I waited until I could do it 'right' before getting started and hoping it pays off.

I hope it does too man. We hate to see people not being able to at least get a little smoke for themselves.

So a little update.

Out of the 4 seeds I dropped, two have sprouted and look healthy, and I can already see the first set of tiny leaves forming between the seed leaves.

The other two have me concerned. Both have pushed up pods, one still had half of the seed shell attached. The other just looked like a bare white matchhead...Not really sure what happened with these.

If I'm going for four target plants, would it probably get a good idea to start germing my other two seeds?

Those sound fine, just let them do their thing for a few days and see how it pans out. I hope for the best.
