New Grower First Grow: Think Different in hydro under HPS

I need help! Came home from work today and the plant had grown a lot less than usual and was looking really sad and droopy. Checked the pH and it was 6.4, lowered it to 5.9 and checked on it 2 hours later and she still hasnt perked up. Theres also some discoloring on the bottom leaves, kinda of like a tan spotty look on the edges. I just moved the light up about 8 inches so its about 2 feet away now. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong?? :help:

I'd change the res and ppm it to 600.. I'd also make sure to throw in some vitamin B supplement as well.. Also you'll notice the PPM will fluctuate. Mine will go from 5.4-7.6 and back down to 6.3 over 3-4 days & I haven't had a problem so I've been setting the p.h half way through the week so don't worry so much about doing it nightly. The leaves look like they're either burning or missing magnesium. Epsom salts is a fast fix for magnesium. A quick search will give you the mixing directions. I read you're only mixing half strength so I'd think it's missing magnesium before I'd think they're burning. That's just me.

+ it might be calcium def. which creates light spots on serrated edges while mag. deff. causes yellowing in the leaves with green veins. It just seems young to have that issue unless your water supply is low in cal-mag. which cal-mag+ would help a lot or epsoms. As far as good auto strains the new Blueberry Auto Mazar is coming out soon and seems to be an awesome auto strain. I am going to be growing TD and Blueberry Auto Mazar next in my old room, from what I have read on here and seen it seems like a winner just like TD

Awesome! thanks guys I really appreciate it. Just did a fresh res change and only put CaMg+, a little of this stuff called boomerang by fox farm and balanced it to 6.0. My roommate had the boomerang and he said its really good for plants that are stressed out. Hopefully she bounces back tonight, I'll post pictures of her tomorrow. And thanks for the recommendation for the blue auto mazar TD! I was looking at that one the other day and it looks like its a great strain, definitely think I'm gonna get a few of those. :smokeit:

Okay so when I woke up this morning the plant looked horrible, super droopy and the spotting on the leaves was getting progressively worse. Did another res change and decided to give it a full feed of everything to see how the plant reacts. I have no idea if I'm underfeeding or overfeeding or if I'm burning the plant or its having deficiencies. The roots popped out into the res and the plant is definitely growing, just doesnt look happy and it isn't growing as fast as it should be. Its still really droopy and sad but the second set of leaves have perked up while the others are still draggin ass. Anyone have anymore suggestions on what i should do or what I'm doing wrong?? Kinda freaking out but I might just be a little too anxious to see it in good health again haha. I'll post pictures in a minute, thanks guys.

I think you should check the temp & humidity in your grow room. Also if that's all in order, then you might consider using an MH Bulb for about 2 weeks then switch back to HPS. I ran into this issue one time when I grew AA, it helped. good luck i hope this helps.

Aloha here's a link that you SHOULD read through or may use as a reference. https://www.autoflower.org/f74/self-diagnose-your-plants-basic-deficiencies-list-11.html -Also for the droopy leaves i'd reccomend ph water @ 5.0-5.5 for starters 1/3 cal mag 1/3 micro(hardwater for tap or regular for R.O or D.S.) 1/4 h202 and 1/3 protekt hope this helps. Aloha.

This is incorrect for Autoflower soil/hydro Because first off you don't want to add any nutes jus supplements until they're third or fith node is present so starter should be 5.0 PH no more that 200PPM 0.80PPM mid growth 5.5-6.0PH 1/4 h202 1/4 protekt 1/3 cal/mag 1 3/4 micro 1C grow 3/4bloom in that order will be your safety net.

Try adding a small amount of hydrogen peroxide to boost oxygen levels? If they are drooping and water is plentiful more than likely stale water. Make sure your lights aren't to close as plants are young and can only handle so much. you should not have to add that much ferts when it's starting off, even in soil i started off with 1/8th dosage per litre and didnt have to add magnesium till preflower, but the yellowing is either nute burn or light burn. stab in the dark here but keep it SIMPLE and don't overthink it, growers kills the plant, the plant doesnt die itself. :) Ease up on the nutes and see what happens, and maybe back the light off a few inches.
