Grow Room First Grow with Super Box

Hi toemato, Looking good! I am giving the Super Closet's Superponics 8 a big thumbs down. I have been using the res water pump to empty the res. If you turn the res water pump on and open the valve on the large hose that comes out of the top of the unit the pump will drain most of the nute solution from the res. I watch for a reduction in flow and the level of the res to shut the pump off when the level of the res get low as to not burn up the pump. After the res is mostly empty. I refill it without worrying about the small amount of liquid that's left. So far so good. I did however purchase a Stealth Hydro Drain Kit, or bulkhead valve (see: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005K2VKCA/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) I am going to install this when this first grow is over. I am also going to add a float valve and a secondary reservoir for PHed water (see: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FCKR5EC/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) My plants are drinking a gallon a day and there are about a gallon of roots so the plants are drinking half of the res solution everyday and subsequently the PPM are all over the place.

My dealings with Super Closet have been fine except that when I received the unit they shipped me a box with someone from Illinois paperwork. Hopefullly whoever got my name and address in their shipment is cool. After receiving the unit and opening it up I had to call Super Closet several times to figure out how to use it. Super Closet is so stealthy they don't have a users manual. They answered all of my questions but for the premium they extract from you for their fool proof system it seems shoddy. Finally, although it's not needed the top feed system on my unit has shut down and I won't damage the plants by trying to dig through the roots to fix it. Anyway I am not trying to hijack your thread. Keep up the nice work on the grow. I've got to build myself a SCROG net like yours.

I completely agree, it's an iffy system but at this point just got to work with what I have, I use the pump to drain to a certain. extent but I remove the rest with the baster. next time I'm going to buy a tent like yours and elevate the resevoir to clean it, I see my roots don't have the best color. but yea the scrog saved me, I hope to yeild about a z but I will have to keep it going another 2 weeks before I flush. Idk space sucks and it's frustrating but I'll have new place soon with a big closet so I'll visit it then . Good vibes!

SM-90 has done wonders for me in the res. I'm going to give the Superponics another try as I already cut a hole in the floor of my tent to accomodate it. Two plants and SCROG this time. I've moved my new grow over to Micro Grows where you are. Talk soon.

Day 26 flower , did lots of clipping today of fans , prolly the first time I've done it in flower, so should hopefully see them explode a little more, should keep them going prolly another week and a half to two weeks then flush. Any tips on drying / curing would be appreciated as I'm going to wing it completely. uploadfromtaptalk1403814938902.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403814971328.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403815008537.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403815017251.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403815028458.jpguploadfromtaptalk1403815041799.jpg

Plants are lookin delicious bro. I wish I could recommend a preferred curing method. This will be my first time curing in a couple weeks or so. Im going to suspend each branch in a wire inside a big enough cardboard box. With holes at the top and the top slightly open. for 2 weeks or untill the branch snaps. Then Im going to cure in mason jars for 2 weeks. I need to check on how often to breath the jar though.

you dont want your branches to snap mate !!! you want it to bend then fold ! you need a little bit of dampness in it to make the cure work. The cure is THE SLOW DRY a little bit of dampness leaves every time you burp the jar until it dry :smoke:

Ima do a relative way I guess, start clipping the finished ones in a week or two, by two weeks have them hung and go until they bend little less than two week, then prolly clip them, then jar for up to 4 weeks. Might tweak this a bit, haven't researched too much yet. But just transported the whole box to another location mid flower haha so nerve racking since I got showings starting on this place but everything went lovely, one more week in flower, then doing suggested technaflora pre flower with first 3 days light nut solution then last 4 days water flush.

LOL, Im glad you said that. Thats how Ive cured all the popcorns I pulled off. I waited until it bend's/folds. Thought I was taking it ever so slightly early.
Thats good news, because now I probably wont have to wait 2 weeks. Probably 1.5 weeks.
