First organic grow - blue automazar // afghan kush ryder

The AKR while being an underperformer for you still looks lovely Medi, some beautiful frost on her :)
The TDs look great. Is the mulch working as you'd like?
Personally rather than using stakes I'd love to see you have a go with some lst man :)

Thanks dude! I'm not sure what I can attribute to the TD genetics and what I can attribute to the mulch, but these are GIANT for their age. The AK is actually fattening up so I'm going to reassess where she's at on day 60 and decide from there whether the coveted floor space is worth going longer. I actually started LST on the TDs, probably waited a bit longer than I should have but I've been nervous about doing it. I watched a few videos, poked a hole in the pots, and tied them down, not sure where to go from there on the next round though, I'm hoping it's more obvious once it starts responding to the LST. Have you found any good resources to help learn more?? I find a lot of less than helpful people with videos. Thanks again for stopping by man!

Honestly man I read loads, watched a few vids and then just thought bugger it and got stuck in.

My goal was to create an even and level canopy. I tied the main cola down first then worked on the side stems.

Once the main cola is down it becomes more obvious what to do next. Take a side stem, look at where you have empty space over the pot. Tie it in that direction, don't worry about getting it in the right place on day 1, readjust it over a few days. It's similar to scrog, constant training.

Check out my dark devil I think there's some reasonable pics on there. Also Grims dp ww & au grow.
We've talked about it before, learn by doing! Little tip, some electrical tape can save your girls if you break a stem!

That was about how it went for me, I was like well, I can always replant if it all goes horribly wrong. Thanks for the advice, I'll keep at it I'm sure it won't be as hard as my imagination has made it out to be. I'll check out those threads when I get home, I bet it will be a lot of help.

Once you get stuck in you'll find yourself thinking, why was I even worried about this!

Updates

Yesterday was day 60 for the BAM and the AKR. At Day 58 I pulled a test bud from near the middle of the AKR and dried it using the cable box method. The next day I tested it out and it knocked me flat, I was fast asleep on the couch in 30 minutes. So I decided to pull the AKR at day 60 and give the better looking of the two Think Differents the coveted spot toward the back of the tent. The TDs are both doing pretty well aside from a few spots where I'd accidentally spilled on them. After the initial LST I tried to start pulling them in other directions using string, but ultimately I found it easier to just manipulate them into a position using a combination of flexing and wiggling of the stems. A couple times a day I reset any movement back to their original position but they're mostly holding where I put them because the stems are all quite soft on both of the TDs. I'm not sure if I've said yet but I also started 3 MOB Jack Stones recently in smaller MISCO containers because they aren't femmed, I plan to tier any females that might come out of that. The three babies are roughly a week old though I made the rookie mistake of not writing it down. Anyway, that's what I got for updates right now, the AKR is in the process of drying and I'll update when they're dry and I've had a better chance to sample them. Hope you're all having a good weekend.

Sounds like you've got some decent smoke with the akr, really early finish too. Well done :)

Thanks man, very early, going back through the photos at day 50 the AKR was where my NL was at around day 75, by day 58 the pistils had retracted in, and the trichomes were clouded all the way to the lowest branch. It was definitely a strange pheno, it'll probabbly end up 10-14 grams dried but it finished really early and is total knock out. I can't imagine leaving it to go amber, it would probably paralyze me, lol. The BAM on the other hand has been coming along at a pretty predictable pace so I think it will be a pretty decent haul in another couple weeks or so.

I've just chopped my amnesia at day 87 and probably could've gone longer with her. Mostly cloudy with some amber but still chucking out with pistils!

I guess the Ruderalis can only do so much to tame the Sati time table :-) I bet the smoke is going to be incredible though man I can't wait to hear about it.

BAM Day 64

The BAM is still coming along and maturing bit by bit but otherwise not doing too much. The smell is a really strange mix of the Mazar earthy skunkiness and the blueberry fruitiness. Not sure how that will translate into the flavor but I am definitely curious to find out :-) The trichomes are clouding up slowly, and are more clear than cloudy so I'm not sure if 11 days is going to be long enough to mature the rest of the way. Not a lot else to report on this one.

TD Day 29

The twins have been out of control and growing into a 2 lady jungle as the photo should show. The taller of the two is around 48cm tall and stretching quite wide in every direction so it looks like the training has definitely helped so thanks Gman for setting my mind more at ease with it. The other one is maybe 5 or 6 cm shorter but also stretching outward to where the two of them more than fill one side to the other. The taller of the two is also starting to flower faster than the shorter one which leaves me to think that maybe the shorter one will get a growth spurt soon. Anyway I'm going to throw up a group shot of my tent and move on to the AKR.

AKR

So it's had time to dry, I got it to around 70% on the net and then put it in my Cvault with the B62s belching a couple times a day so far. It weighed in at 7.4 grams dried but I knew it would be small anyway so I wasn't too heartbroken. The smell is a very potent espresso with a woody/floral undertone. It really walks a balance between offensive and can't get enough if that makes any sense. I can't really say much about the taste though as it hasn't had time to cure yet. The effect is very relaxing mentally and physically and if I partake after 9pm I don't make it to see 10pm. I don't want to do a full report since it was such a strange grow but I did want to say that I enjoy it and will be circling back to it eventually though it may take a while.
