First organic grow - blue automazar // afghan kush ryder

Definitely always feels like I cant keep up as of late. That BAM sounds awesome.
I do like the sedative nature of the AKR though. Perfect for my sleep aid needs =). The BAM sounds like a great high, like the Candy Kush I grew. Stoney, but workable with the respect inline haha. :tiphat:

I know that feeling brother Neko! I decided to test the limits with the BAM this weekend, and it can definitely obliterate any semblance of being useful!! I'm looking forward to the TD at this point just to get a break from the back to back to back heavy Indicas. Going to do an update post for the TD later, they got much worse and are now on the mend thanks to getting my RO source back!!

Heh, the BAM sounds even more enticing now haha.

Dude, that think different has been in the back of my mind for a while. I love a good sativa. Now that I have more room. I could grow that and some indica's. So I wont have to wait so long for a harvest.

Passin' through and getting caught up brother medi.

Thanks A4, always good to see you!! I wish I had something better to offer for your trouble, they're still looking pretty rough. And on that note:

Day 51

I feel like I can safely say that the issues I was having were entirely related to switching from RO to distilled because they stopped progressing once I was able to start using RO again, and what little new growth has come in since is healthier than the rest of the plant. Twin 1 has mostly stalled out so I'm leaning toward a 100 day plus finish on that one. Twin 2 is actually putting on some weight and is producing more trichomes, so it looks like other than the ugly foliage Twin 2 will still do well in the end. I don't have much more to add except these pictures which hurt to post.

Just like Dazed said, it takes time to get comfortable with things and something that works for one person may not work for another. At one point in my growing I decided that I would give RO water a try. My city was is pretty good with a pretty low ppm but I wanted to see if RO would make any difference. I stopped and bought a couple of 5 gallon containers to try. Within 3 days I had severe iron and zinc deficiencies, to the point I almost lost every one of my plants. I had to foliar feed the rest of the way through the grow just to get a very meager harvest. Never tried it again. Just a short story to say that sometimes all it takes is a one small change to really make some drastic problems. I never would have thought simply swapping water like that mid-grow would screw things up so bad but it did. I am sure had I started from the beginning with RO I wouldn't have had problems but changing really screwed me.

Keep your head up bro! We have all done it and learn from it. :bump:

Thanks Dazed!! And yeah A4 it really is the craziest thing, the RO machine was down a couple weeks and that was enough to go from beautiful to horrible. It took me most of that time to figure out what was causing it. If I had to guess I would say the issue is related to the low PH of distilled water which is 5.8 according to Google. Since switching back I've re-innoculated the soil so hopefully the soil finds its balance again. I'm reading up on the water in my area and apparently the municipality uses an array of wells to feed the county so I'm pretty sure that won't be a good source for me. I'm thinking I probably need to just break down and buy my own RO system so I can have a more reliable source of water since that seems to be the only outstanding variable. Thanks for the encouragement from both of you guys!! And everyone else that comes through for that matter.

Are you on a water meter? Is that even a thing in the US? Running an ro unit wastes a lot of water.

Hey medi, have you considered rain water collection? I have been doing that for a year now and have loved the results. The pH of my rainwater comes in about 6.3 and right at 2-3 ppm.
