Okay guys after a few false starts and issues with an indecisive friend I am 13 days into my grow. I was going to grow under a 300w dual spectrum CFL which was given to me for free but the tight git who gave it to me took it back. All after he saw how well my first T.D seedling was growing and because he needed a veg light for one of his mother plants. He also was dying for the seedling so took that with him too. In return he gave me a 125w CFL dual spectrum. Best deal ever [emoji22]
The point of this grow is basically to see if I could grow an ounce of high quality weed cheaper than it costs to buy the laced and sprayed crap off the thugs on the street. Also to not be reliant on friends to supply me. Also I will keep the power draw at a minimum and I will be skimping everywhere I can. This is not a grow about yield and is also a learning experience for myself to see how a Think Different strain grows naturally. I intend to make this a lifelong hobby since I grow Naga chillies, tomato plants etc already. I enjoy growing.
Anyway here's a quick list of things I have bought or had lying around:
Black Orchid Grow Tent with free rope ratchets 60x60x140 - £29.99
125w Dual Spectrum CFL - Free
Generic reflector - £11.99
Biobizz Light Mix 20 ltr - £6
Perlite - Had some left from my Naga and Tomato plant grows
7 inch fan - £5
2m Surge protector extension lead £1.99
11 ltr Plant pots - Already had some at home
Biobizz starter pack nutrients £7.99
Seeds 3 x T.D £25 from Attitude using code 420 bought a while ago with a Critical Kush and Green Love Potion freebie. Don't like the freebies really.
Think that's a total of around £88 can't be bothered getting calculator out or using me noggin'.
Growing wise I'm actually quite familiar with the techniques like topping, super cropping, LST, scrog etc except we never had names for these techniques growing fruit & veg in the garden and greenhouse.
So an ounce costs £180 minimum at mates rates around here and can spiral to around £220 mark. Ridiculous prices considering 7-8 yrs ago you could get an ounce for £110 around here.
I have one of those killawat things plugged into the wall as well just to check how much electricity will end up costing me for the grow but not worried at all since it's a mighty 125w CFL [emoji23]
Just thought I'd add that the seeds were germinated using the paper towel method in a boiler room and were planted as soon as they broke the shell. Lights came on as soon as they were planted to help with the humidity of the grow room. Saw a sprout pretty much the next day for both.
Grown in a mixture of 80% Biobizz light mix and 20% Perlite. Biobizz light is already quite a light mix and has Perlite already but added a bit more Perlite anyway.
Light cycle is 24/0 and plan to keep it that way for the entire grow using the same 125w Dual Spectrum CFL.
