New Grower First time grower. Need suggestions on my set up.

Sucking works better than pushing.

On a previous setup where vertical space was at a premium, I had my fan and filter outside the tent. It will work, but as everyone has said it's not ideal. I rolled up the prefilter and put it in the center of the filter so that it would collect any large particles that might get sucked in. The key is having a large enough fan with a speed controller when you are pushing air through. Too fast and it won't remove odor completely and too slow & you'll lose negative pressure in the tent. But unless there's a good reason not to, attaching the fan to the filter and hanging it above the lights is the way to go.

Hello everyone, once again thank you for all the replies! Sorry it took me so long to get back to you all.

I currently have my babies germinating, I decided to go with northern lights auto fems. I will only be doing 2 since it's my first time grow, and my tent is really small (even smaller because duct fan sucks in tent)

After taking the advice into consideration I have my final set up.. How does it look?

Also a few final question before I move this over to an actual grow journal.

Do I have to do anything special to the soil before I plant? Like a pre soak or something?

any tips on how to stop the fan from sucking in the tent?

Looking good nate.

Three ways to stop the tent being sucked in. One costs money the other two are cheap.

1, Fan speed controller and lower the suction force of the fan in till the sides stop being pulled in.

2, Use an off cut of ducting or two in the bottom vent of the tent and cover the open end/s with a filter to stop dust and bugs ect being sucked in this will allow more air into the tent and should stop the tent being sucked in.

3, Remove the tent from the frame and get some wire or string and then wrap it around tight between the poles on the three side walls and roof leaving the door section free. then weave the upright string in between then replace cover this should stop it being sucked it. Forgive the cheap drawing

That's actually a good thing you want a slight vacuum.
