New Grower First Timer

Thanks. I had to fit in a 46" space. I've got 3"-4" to spare.

Hi Jack'- That's Ca and a little Mg defc. all the way,...looks like your pH is fine, so lockout is a non-issue,... The random scattered brown spots are Ca defc. symptoms, and the pale areas on the leaf between veins looks like early Mg defc.; there's a good reason why these two are paired together in so many supplements! ..wish I knew the scientific reason behind why, but.... :dunno: Some plants can be serious Ca-Mg hogs, when others right next to them are fine... see it all the time here! So, Magical has a good conc. of stuff, but if it's not keeping up with the demand, and you don't want to mess with the res' soln. for the other plants, I recommend a foliar spray; it's the fastest way into the plant, hands down, and it takes the roots/medium out of the equation; now, to maximize the effectiveness, you should use a water spreader/wetting agent in the foliar soln.; this stuff takes the surface tension out of the soln., so it coats more evenly instead of just beading up... and the way nute's get absorbed by leaves, simply put, the more surface area covered= more absorbed! As I have no experience with Hydro, I don't know if upping the Magi-cal conc. in the res' beyond what's recommended is going to mess with the rest of the balance in there,... likely not, and you can try it, but at this stage, foliar is the way to go! Water spreaders are readily available, and most are not expensive,... If you want to try this, let us know, and we'll talk you through it- respond at the LTH thread plz, so we see it sooner!
I have only just read this. But on a lot of cal-mag bottles or some nutrients, you use double the dose for hydro. So may be possible why he's lacking.

Thanks KannibisKing, I'll try increasing the Magical before I switch to blooming nutes to see if I can resolve the spotting.

Day 35 Update

I can't tell if the foliar feeding is helping. This afternoon I upped the Magical to 150% of the recomended level and now have 620 ppm in res. I've been controlling ph and it is at 5.9 I've begun replentishing the res with bloom nutes. The plants are drinking 1/2 gal a day of solution. The plants are nice and short they are bushes. I think they like the 5w LEDs. img_1932.jpg

I called technaflora and supercloset today check my journal for the details, the guy at technaflora said it's highly unlikely you'll ever have a calcium deficiency with the RFS he said he gets that call a couple times a month

Sooooo bushy. I'm starting to think it may be a good idea to have some side lighting :)

I am pulling this one out of my ass but I think it's the LED. I only have one 60W CFL in a corner to try to fill in the light spectrum. I've bent the main colas over and some of the lower branches stretched toward the light but the plants are bushes. I have not really seen them reach for the light.

Day 38

I am up to full strength bloom nutes. The tips of many of the leaves are brownish orange but the plants seem happy. I have the tops of the plants pulled down and their lower branches a reaching toward the light, buds are forming.
