New Grower Fox Farms Coco Loco grow...

looking pretty and healthy brother

sorry i didnt find that first post anywhere bud, so sorry about that...
The leaves that are yellowing are ths very first ones that appear, the one and three leaf "fan" leaves I guess you would call them. Since they aren't getting any light would it be okay to remove them?

would be easier to answer with a picture :) .. but i tend to let it be if its not in the way for anything and if its not completely dead.. "My 2 cents"

Thanks Rebel! I will defer to a more experienced grower such as yourself and leave them on the plant. That's why I'm here, to learn. If I didn't want to listen I shouldnt have asked!

what you do about it is always up to you buddy :)

i wont get mad if you dont do as i say..hey, im not a expert either ^^

live/learn/share :Sharing One: have a great friday buddy :pighug:

Since my initial post was lost in the transfer I will do my best to recall what I posted. Here goes...

I have decided to post my grow journal here as this is my first online grow journal on any forum of any kind. After significant research I have found AFN to have the most helpful and knowledgeable mods and members BY FAR!!!!! I have found that other forums lack true knowledge and there is constant belittling, fussing, and bickering between members and I just don't have any need or time for childish banter. We are all adults, hopefully, and we should be able to handle ourselves in a professional and courteous manner. Let me just say thank you to the board mods for not letting such nonsense to be allowed here!

After a few successful grows I decided to switch mediums. I went to the local hydro store and decided on a new medium instead of my home brewed soil. I walked out with Fox Farms' Coco Loco which is in their BushDoctor line. After I got home I tried to do some research to find as much information as possible and I came up with absolutely nothing. I called Fox Farms and they said that it has been on the market for roughly 6-12 months. According to the bag it contains coco coir, coconut palm humus, and 20% perlite. The combination of the ingredients give the medium an incredibly spongy and airy texture and makes it extremely difficult to overwater. I did add more perlite at 5 parts Coco Loco and one part perlite. I do have to say that the Coco Loco is extremely arid and spongy.

I did have one small hiccup though. After my ladies sprouted i noticed that they were not growing after four to five days. I stopped by the hydro store and he said that the Coco Loco had a very light amount of bat guano and earthworm castings that were just enough to feed my ladies for rhe first few days of life. I picked up some cal mag and some Fox Farms Grow Big and immediately gave my ladies a feed. This goes against everything that I've read and researched as I was worried about nute burn, or even worse. I gave my ladies 1/2tsp of Grow Big and 1Tsp of Cal Mag and almost immediately I noticed a difference and the next day the second set of leaves finally started to show.

I called Fox Farms and they said that the medium is a hybrid of sorts, a mix between coco coir and soil. They said as long as the ph was between 6.3-6.8 then the nute uptake would be fine

I accidentally submitted tge above post before I finished. This is a continuation...

Below are pics from my first post which was day #11 or #12...

Update Day #45...

Sorry about the delay since my last update. I have been extremely busy with life in general.

My babies are really starting to stretch, save the Skunk Auto. I have really abused this girl hence the reason that shes so stunted. I started her in a jiffy pot and then transplanted her into her current home. I had no clue that autos did not like being transplanted until I read it here, so mistake #1. After 8-10 days after she popped above soil I noticed that she wasnt growing at all. After speaking with the local hydro store he suggested that I start with light nutes since my medium was basically inert. So, if you decide to try Fox Farms Coco Loco feed your seedling 1/16-1/8 strength veg nutes about three days after shes above soil. So that was mistake #2. About six days ago I noticed that the leaves were turning a very dark green, hence a nitrogen toxicity. I also noticed that there were small copper colored areas on the fan leaves. I decided to do a flush, it was due for one anyway. I used Fox Farms Sledgehammer at 2tsp per gallon of distilled water and 2 drops of superthrive. I was astonished at the runoff ph! My solution going in was at a ph of 6.5 and the runoff ph coming out was 4.5! I flushed with 3 gallons of said solution until my runoff ph came to 6.5. While I was at it I decided to flush all of my babies as it was time to do so anyway. None of the others had ph issues like the skunk auto but they were off. This flush aleviated the issue and washed away all salt build up. So, after all of these noob mistakes my Skunk Auto is doing much better and is swelling but she is definately stunted. We all live and learn.

At the time of this update I'm at the following nute strength as per the Fox Farm nute schedule...

2Tsps Grow Big

3Tbsps Big Bloom

2Tsps Tiger Bloom

1/2 Tsp Open Sesame

1 Tsp Cal Mag

2 Drops SuperThrive

I have to ph the solution up to 6.42 up from 4.49. As to date I have had no signs of nute burn, so all is well on the feeding schedule. I wait until the pot is very light. Today they each took 1 gallon of solution which is the most so far. My runoff ph is at 6.42 for each plant so my flush was a success! My RH is holding between 40%-50% and temps are between 78-82 with lights on and around 72 with them off.

Below are pictures of my babies. Due to the ph issue with the skunk auto some of my leaves look terrible but such is life. She is starting to get pretty frosty, but you would never know it becaude of my shitty camera phone. For my next update I'm gonna use the wife's camera. When you rub her she puts off a very wonderful citrus smell which I love. Below are some pictures and I'm very sorry for the shitty quality...

Below are pictures of the Strawberry Blue. You can definitely see the benefits of the LST that I attempted. The canopy on this one is pretty darn even and lush. The smell on this one is very pungent with hints of fruits and moldy cheeses. I love this one so far! The first picture is after a little leaf tucking...

Next up is my Hawaiian Skunk Haze #2. This one as well as #1 has a very piney and spicy smell when you rub her. These two are definitely Sativa dominant. Below are my pics...

Hawaiian Skunk Haze #1... well this one is at 20 inches tall. Im having a tough time telling if its a she or a he right now. The skunk auto is just that, an auto while the other three are photos. The Strawberry Blue is femed while the two Hawaiian are not. I flipped to 12/12 on the photos seven days ago and neither of the Hawaiian's havent showed me the sex, that I can see. I have a closet that's not used that I put them in for the other eight hours while the Skunk Auto is kept under the lights at a 20/4 schedule. I have taken some pictures of the areas to where it shpuld br showin male or female. Once again, this phone has a shitty camera and I will take better pictures tomorrow with the wife's camera. Below are pics and let me know if you think male or female.

Say goodbye to Hawaiian Skunk Haze #2... i woke up this morning to little balls everywhere. He got chopped!

The Hawaiian Skunk Auto #1 showed me her lady parts this morning. Shes gonna be a tall girl.

Wow, from the pics, I would have thought the opposite....that HSH1 was a boy and that HSH2 was the lady....

Nice to see my freebies being grown! Cheers!
