Taking my questions to live stoner gossip but mind explaining or pointing the difference between feeding your plants vs feeding your soil. And how microbes help get the ladies what they need instead of the plant just figuring it out for herself???

In my case, I'm building a soil from scratch so I want to encourage the microscopic flora and fauna (which I have added) to consume and digest the amendments I added in order to make the nutrients in those amendments available to the plants. Then the plants can then take up what they need.
