New Grower G'Day from OZ. 1st time grower here going to use the Auto-Pot Hydro System

I've cleared out a robe for this first grow, I'm in a rental unit and have until March 1st until the next inspection so I want everything wrapped up by then.

Should I go with a soil grow for my first attempt or try hydro? If I go soil, can anyone recommend a good recipe?

Also, can anyone link me to a journal to someone using auto-pots? This is the robe I'm going to use.

I also bought more seeds, 2x 60 day wonder's and 3x Green Poison, they both have 60 day cycles. I'm sure I'll let them go longer for increased cbd's but I want a quick stash to last me while I grow some proper strains.

G'day everyone, here's an update.

I've ordered and received my seeds. I ordered a few auto fems but got some freebies, here's what all I got now:

1 Cheese Regular
2 Auto Green Poison Auto Fem
1 Bomb Ice Fem
2 Auto Blueberry Auto Fem
3 Auto 60 Day Wonder Auto Fem
3 Auto Jack 47 Auto Fem
3 Kandy Kush Fem


I germinated 1 60 Day Wonder and 1 Green Poison and they are now 10 days old in the Autopots. The 60 day wonder already has 2 leaves and 2 more baby leaves coming out. The GP is just starting to show it's 2nd set of leaves. I started them in 2 separate shot glasses of tap water for 2 days, then wet tissue for 36hrs. They had about an inch and a half size tap roots so I popped them into the ground.

I spray watered for the 1st week then gave 2 good waterings with about 64oz of water each pot then read a thread here to only water seedlings every other day with 32oz water. So, I cut back and didn't water today. It's still moist up to my first knuckle. Now, here's the setup:

• 2x 4 gallon autopots
• 2 inches of Growstones at the bottom
• 2:1:1 of Phat coco buffered and cal/mag enriched/perlite/growstones
• 600w HPS at max height from the seedlings
• 2 growlush fans blowing on the seedlings
• CF filter on the ground and growlush fan pushing up thru the cooltube and exit exhaust coming out the top of the robe
• Temps were over 85F so I put an air conditioner in the room to keep it at 77F
• I have lights on 24/7 but I did try one day at 18/6 but it got too cold in the room, so I'm going to go 24/7 until they show sex then cut back to 20/4 with the 4hrs of darkness during the afternoon so it doesn't get so cold

Questions are:

How much should I be watering (top down) until I turn on the Autopots?
Does my lighting plan sound OK?

Hey bro, very nice looking setup you got for a first grow and nice little selection of seeds you got there. I'm interested to see how the autopots work out for you, I was also looking at using these but couldn't find a Canadian distributor.

I am using similar sized pots and was watering around 1L every 5-6 days for the first 3 weeks (maybe more often for u with hps) I think at around 3 weeks you can turn on the autopots. Also your lighting plan is fine.

hey everyone, i'm getting worried about this auto green poison. day 11 in the ground and no 2nd set of leaves have appeared and her 2 leaves are drooping. the other 60 day wonder has her 2nd set of leaves and leaves are not limp and she's looking healthy and happy, not sad.

Try and let the top soil dry out a bit and recover with a much larger humidity dome

What are your maximum temps?

Max temps only about 77F, temp range has been between 20 - 30c. The first week or about 4 days, max temps got up to 85 but I put the portable air con in the room to keep things cool at about day 6 or 7.

I put that cup back on, no water spray. I did water this morning with about 24oz of tap water, there was no runoff. How long should I hold off until watering again? Should I do the same with the 60 day wonder? she's looking ok with a 2nd set of leaves coming out. I have a humidifier on the way by mail order.

Now that your creating a humid environment you will have a much larger window when your plants need watering so you'll be able to tell just by watching them. I would worry more about not watering than watering at this stage bro - the root system is very tiny and delicate at the moment.

I still feel for now that cup is a little small - just remove it to recirculate air every 4-8 hours until you can find something at-least double the size.

Youve just put them into extreme circumstances which they are not thanking you for at the moment.

Humidity 60-80%

Keep in this range for atleast 24hours and you should see recovery or atleast them stopping anymore damage and then after that they will revert to growing again - just try and stabelize it as soon as possible - do what ever you can bro - i sent you a PM of some things you can do
