Thanks all... since I am doing organic will the gnatrol affect my soil and nutrients?

first time I ever heard of it.i don't know but 1 time I had leaf miners and I sprayed with neem oil when they were like wk 6 and after I harvest that shit make ur stomach hurt like heart burn,no shit not just me but couple people who smoked it.my bad for not washin off but I still say fuk sprayin anything on my buds no more unless its a do or die situation

I ordered some sticky things, some plain perlite to cover the top - i think my sand might do more harm than good its outside...and then ordered the gnatrol. All will arrive on friday. Thanks to all for advice, I will do the needful. Respect to you all.

Spiker-- I too grow outside, where there's an endless source of soil/fungus gnats; the mosquito dunks and Gnatrol both have the same active ingredient: a type of Bacillus bacteria... basically, it's biological weapon! I find one or two treatments per grow is sufficient to keep them pretty much free of them the entire time... when this bacteria gets inside them, they sicken very quickly, stop feeding and their guts are wrecked not long after! It seems to persist in the soil nicely, infecting and killing any newcomers-

I grow fruits vegetables and flowers and try my best to stick to organic methods. However, I don't do insects. And where I live ticks, fleas, ants and all the other creepy crawlies are present in scary numbers.

i am very big on aromatherapy and have found that just by spraying a combination of the appropriate essential oils as a barrier round your plants will dissuade all creepy crawlies.

my gardening clothes are impregnated with eucalyptus oil, lemon grass and lavender essential oils mixed with a carrier oil. When I go into the garden, absolutely nothing comes anywhere near me.

don't spray the plants just everything around it. My Buddha Purple Kush which is now outside in the soil has a thin bamboo cane stuck in the soil beside her with a square of old t-shirt drenched in eucalyptus, peppermint and lemon grass essential oil hung on her like a flag. She is as clean as a whistle. Remember to make sure your flag is camouflage colours.

Ants — Peppermint and Spearmint
Aphids — Cedarwood, Hyssop, Peppermint, Spearmint
Beetles — Peppermint and Thyme
Caterpillars — Spearmint and Peppermint
Chiggers — Lavender, Lemongrass, Sage, Thyme
Cutworm — Thyme, Sage
Fleas — Peppermint, Lemongrass, Spearmint, Lavender
Flies — Lavender, Peppermint, Rosemary, Sage
Gnats — Patchouli, Spearmint
Lice — Cedarwood, Peppermint, Spearmint
Mosquitoes — Lavender, Lemongrass
Moths — Cedarwood, Hyssop, Lavender, Peppermint, Spearmint

So much to learn! I've never even grown a tomato or a flower before so all information is new to me. Keep it coming.

Update: Neem oil while waiting on mosquito dunks to arrive..Just a light spray around the containers and on soil..They all disappeared. Then yellow sticky tags..caught a few, then mosquito dunks and now no new gnats In several days! Thanks all for your help!

 you're welcome bro'! Dunks/bacterial products are the best, IMO,.. I dosed my 16 plants that spend most of the time outside after a few gnats started to move in on them, about 12 days ago,.... now, aside from the occasional hitch-hiker on a plant, nothing! I may have to give one more round weeks from now, but I've had a treatment persist for nearly an entire grow,...
