Hi all starting up my 1st grow tent and needed a bit of advice with my fan. I Have a 1x1x2m tent and a grownorthern ms006 with upgraded rebel units and saving up for another 1 I was wondering how big a fan I'd need and how often it wud need to be running as the leds don't give off that much heat so just need it to remove the stale air and any recommendation s for a good silent fan would be appreciated thanks in advance.

For exhaust fans the rule of thumb is to replace the air of your tent every 5 minutes (more frequently if you have heat to remove). You have a 2cu meter tent. So, you'd need to run a fan at 0.4 cubic meters per minute. (Not sure if that's the metric terminology for measuring fan capacity. But, you get the idea. I deal with cubic feet per minute.).

You'll probably need a speed control. If noise is important, don't buy the cheap "dimmer" like controls. Spend an extra $30 US for a variac. (<<link) Instead of chopping the sine wave into hundreds of pulses, it simply reduces the voltage. I have both a cheap control and a variac. Huge difference in the sound. With the cheap control it makes a buzzing noise, especially at slower speeds.

Thanks as2000 that helped going to get a 5" rvk and save for a variac speed controller and possibly wrap the fan in box and insulation to help dammping the noise cheers
