Remember to put down paper ei. News paper or regular brown or white packing paper, but non wax or glossy paper but any biodegradable paper.
The reason is...is that the wood chips will eat up all the nitrogen in your soil before the ( wood chips) decompose far enough to be beneficial to the garden. The wood chips I put down over the (brown paper down first) that's protected from the above. Also it's going to allow my wood chips decompose slowly to create a fungal wood chip mulch or compost . A fungal wood chip compost maybe one of the best things that you can do for your soil . Access YouTube John Green Growing Your Greens and look up fungal wood chips there's a four or five good videos on it and it'll teach you a lot about fungal wood chips and a fungal wood chip Garden. There's another one called The Garden of Eden that's also another very good vido but super long and maybe a lot of content that's really not necessary. but the education part of it... almost makes it worth it all .
I use natural wood chips there's no painted ones in here or colored ones and eventually I hope to have a fungal wood chip Garden

The weather is going to give hell again We are going to have a hard freeze. Temps are going to be down in the 20s. Brrrr

Have to heat the grow cage at lest for a few hour's each night while this cold snap blows through. Ugh

Well to add insult to injury the inside grow I found 4 of plants that hermaphrodite late. Ugh
Also 2 of them seem to have been trying to bud under 18 hour light. Ugh.... I'm now thinking that the 2019 late harvest plant's that gave some seeds... May have been bred with an Auto.
I did find bananas on one of them for sure .. But had thought I got it before it popped... Ugh

Ya got to love the weather here in Michigan. I am at the 45 parallel about ya know the left pinky of the map and I mowed my lawn for the first time today. I am envisioning Mother Nature of Michigan looking more like the Wicked Witch. The garden is looking fabulous @Growtogrow I am also looking forward to some warm/hot weather. You are giving me the bug to plant one in the yard.

I love it here though but I'll tell you the weather sure can get messed up quick. It's snowed a few years ago on the 14th of May when I was over by Grand Rapids at a campground. we stayed there for the weekend and we figured out the camper had a heater in it. LoL... It got down into the 20s at night and snowed about an inch.
Gardening is addictive right LOL. I know I can't seem to get out of mine right now. As I was saying above now I got to pop some seeds and it's so late for me to pop. I have a seed order coming from seedsman of granddaddy purple and brown sugar and some Bubba Kush and they sending some freebies I can't remember the names of them but I'm going to grow them all.
to hell with it.

Heat
it's w/o heat 40°f @3:30am.
With heat and a fan 44°f in a few minutes.

It got down to 26°f outside at 6am last night. I've needed heating since 3am. It's 9:30am and the temp inside the cage is 58.7f. And outside 37°f now. Ugh!!
The cold weather is to last through Wednesday at night mainly Ugh.

What I'm using for heat is a LP gas stand alone (cannibalized) fireplace. I have other heaters but this one uses the least amount of gas and it looks cool. I've got 2x30 lbs and 1x20 LP tanks.
I'll fill all 3 of them later today, hopefully they'll last through the cold snap.

Thanks for the warm thoughts LOL. I sure hope it gets warmer down here quick. My LP tank is holding up pretty well though. I've only used half the fuel that I thought I was going to use. So I'll fill the tanks up later this afternoon that should last me through this cold snap with all three tanks.
