Hi all,

Total newb here, also a complete technophobe.

Apart from a bodybuilding forum, this is the only other forum I am or have ever been a member of.

I was enticed to the site by certain members of AFN who post grow videos on YouTube (braver than me, would not risk any type of identity exposure myself, but I salute those who do) and after lurking for a few months, Ive taken the plunge.

I'll be looking to buy my first tent set up soon for my garage, and hoping to kit it out with a decent LED.

I have a few Blue Cheese Autos out in a mini greenhouse in my garden at the moment but due to the weather (Cheers Scotland..) not sure how they will turn out.

Anyway Tanks for reading and hopefully accepting yet another noob into the fold.

p.s If I want to post questions regarding kitting out my first tent which sub section should I post in?

Aloha DarkGreen and welcome to AFN. I am sure a more experienced member will direct you to the correct section. My inital suggestion is to post in the new grower section. Also read threads started by others, ask questions and generally get involved, it's the best way to make contacts and develop your growing prowess. The best of luck,

Hi DarkGreen! :) Welcome to AFN

:welcome: :welcome: :welcome:

I see you asking a question about security and we're putting together a new help section at the moment

Here's some info for you on stipping pictures.

EXIF

What the heck is EXIF and why should I care about it?

Your photos contain hidden information, it can even include the GPS coordinates of the location they were taken, will almost always include the date and time, camera shutter setting details, and possibly even the name of the program you used to edit them? This type of metadata can be useful, but you may want to remove it from your photos before sharing them online. Why chance it? It is quite simple to remove once you know how.

Cameras, both standalone digital cameras and smartphone cameras, add this metadata to the photo when they create it. Software programs, like Photoshop, may also update the metadata later, noting what software was used to edit the photo.

When you are sharing your photos online, you may want to get rid of this data. For example, if you take a photo in your house and then post it online, people may be able to read the photo’s EXIF metadata and determine where you live. Not really a good thing, eh! Especially the LEO's!!!

So, that's what it is. How do I get rid of it you ask!?!

.....

I use this program to edit exif data. Works for me.

http://www.colorpilot.com/exif.html

.....

I use FastStone Image Viewer www.faststone.org. It will process an entire folder of images in a few seconds

Or if you're on windows you can open the photo in paint and save it as another name as a jpeg and that will clean it. Or you can right click on some versions and in the properties remove the hidden data! :)

Happy Growing!
