Harvesting wild Mycorrhizal Fungi

Right you lot , I recon I have ecto , so back to the drawing board , Endo where am I going to get that from , Google - Google . HA bamboo has the highest concentration of Endo than any other plants , Yep I have that , just one hic up , how to get enough soil from them to plant in a hole , Bloody hard , so what doe's a bloke do , look for the next best . Guinea grass , :woohoo:I have heaps of it around , I even planted some close to my plot to hide it , so now I am thinking I already have both in the ground ,
So will it move in:shrug: , I think so , I not long ago watched a vid on the reforestation of Mt St Helens and how long it took for the natural fungi to return , Bloody long time . Now what I am thinking on the weekend I will dig some soil up around the Guinea grass and dig it in , Da Da . I don't know if you guys can understand this , BUT I spend a lot of time in the yard and I am sure there is a symbolic interaction going on . Sun comes up Sun goes down . I think it called -Earth Mother .

Right on Hecno!

I didn't realize that endo was such a big deal in the Australian rain forests... http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16133252

I think that if too much endo is present it's colonies actually steal from the leafy plants rather than assist as the ecto hyphaes do... It's always something... lol

Oops... I mean the reverse, ecto and endo... stoned again...

I believe that @Eyes on Fire had previously posted a video on harvesting natural fungi by planting some rice in a panty hose legging and letting that do its thing for about a month, then it was dug back up and the fungi was then harvested and used, you may want to give him a shout and see if the video is still around

But really... on a serious note... I've been paying attention to mycorrhizal hyphae since I read it on the side of my soil bag... If you pay attention to it and learn how to grow it inside the ganja container, you'll grow plants that push their genetically programmed envelope... Smart man that Hecno... Heckya!

This is a good book about it but there are also numerous academic articles about it on the web... Thanks for this thread hecno... probably the most important but little understood secret to growing anything to it's fullest genetic potential... including ganja!

:slap:

@Rhyce Saroni Thank you for the rep  . I am finding the whole Mycorrhizal subject fascinating , and I have read many articles about the little buggers and being that I have a coastal rain forest on my door step I can scratch around in the dirt like a bandicoot . I know I can buy the stuff , but my next stage will be to grow my own as I have some of the best host plants around me .@Dirt Weed I have seen that video or one like it . @dingo thanks mate .

Hecno, you need to be aware that simply cutting some ecto from the ground will not work. The host plant needs to die to encourage the ecto to make spores. The spores are added to young seedlings and should make contact with roots for best results.
