Yeah, I can pretty much guarantee that any breeder that says XXX strain x ruderalis is just flat out lying. Nobody is growing actual rudi's and breeding them, there is just zero reason to. The Autoflowering traits have been locked down well enough to avoid that. It really does not matter too much what base autoflowering plant you use if you do enough back-crosses. First cross will be 50%, next will be 75%, then 87%, 94%, and by the 5th BX, you should be at nearly 98% purity. Now that takes a lot of time, so using an Auto that is close to the strain you are working with can help speed things up. Using pure ruderalis, lol no.

Another one that kills me, when a breeder says 55% Sativa, 25% indica, and 20% ruderalis . . . oh really? I mean its possible to get those ratios with tons of back crosses and recrosses and mixing, but to actually put it in print as a fact is just BS.

The truth is that unless you are dealing with landrace strains, nobody really knows how much of what is in a plant. Its all about the traits - does it make you want to sink into the couch listening to Rusted Root and eating ice cream? I'd call that indica dominant. Is it tall with narrow leaves and open buds, does it make you want to do art and clean your bathroom - I'd say you have a sativa sir.

Happy growing brother, keep us posted

Humboldt seed is even worse. They straight up say “unknown ruderalis” in their auto crosses. Just looks like a cash grab to me

Of course, when you are based in Spain but name yourself after a county in california . . . . ;)

I’ve grown a handful of their photo offerings and I’ve got no complaints at all. I love the Black D.O.G, I just think the autoflowers they offer sound sketchy and it strikes me as a half assed effort to cash in on that piece of the market that’s all. I could be completely wrong, but it reads to me that they just took the photo strain and crossed it with “unknown ruderalis” (their words not mine) and once the resulting seeds had the autoflower trait they just called it a day.

Thank you for the kind words. I didn't do a journal per se, but I did provide weekly updates in the Mephisto champion of champions battle thread. If there's anything you'd like to know please feel free to ask.

Hey @Yourztrulee can I ask what light or lights you grew your NCH under bro?? She is an absolute monster. Amazing plant.. Great job :d5:
