I have 2 NCH plants in coco with organic dry amendments on day 81 that the buds have started turning dark and it looks like purple. The temperature in the tent is around 81f with around 55 - 60% rh on there and the lights are on 24/0 on there.

I am new to growing and I made a lot of mistakes with these 2 plants. I did a major defoliation a few weeks ago and it looked like the plants stopped growing for a while. The plants had what looked like deficiencies but so many people told me it looked like nutrient lockout and it was near when I thought it would harvest so I stopped trying to fix it and some leaves died but I kept watering it though I decided to try a top dressing like 2 or 3 weeks ago with some recharge and it looks like they started getting green again on there.

Now the plants are on day 81 and I looked at the trichomes and it looks like it has a few clear trichomes so I am planning to look again in like a week for it. I cut a little piece of the bud off today to look at the trichomes and then decided to smoke it after because why not and it gave me a good buzz for 1-2 hours on there.

Have you had nch that had dark purple buds without letting the temperature go low in the tent on there?

The color of buds has very little to do with temperatures. Color is genetic. Just like your skin color is genetic. With that said, I've seen plenty of NCH autos show pinkish/purple color.

Thanks. I thought I had read that people can turn the plant purple if you have the tent with low temperature in it. Is that mainly the leaves then and the bud is from the kind of the plant on there?

Low temps is a shock treatment that restricts the flow of phosphorus.. and it does not work on all strains.. Some of the plants leaves and some buds will turn purple as a result of the shock from the low temps. It's not true purple bud. It's forced. True color happens on its own. Just like your plant is doing. That's how it happens naturally, through genetics.
