Thanks for the encouragement. They are starting to do their thing. One DN I've layed flat. I put some stakes in yesterday, they were all very responsive. I had a day of "oh fuck" these are gonna be difficult to manipulate, but I think I may have my finger on it. Just adjusted all stakes. Onward and upward

You prob already know this, but just un case ya don't, if ya water a few hours before manipulating the stout branches on plants like DN, it makes it easier, and less likely to snap. That trick goes for any plant, but it really makes a diff with Deez and SN type plants.
The other trick, you have already demonstrated. Stake em, give her a few hours and make adjustments. Lots of little adjustments instead of one big adjustment. It really helps with these type of plants to use 2 stakes. One toward the mid of the branch, and then one, farther out. It also keeps the stakes in the ground, these plants are so stout they like to lift the stakes as they grow.

I live on the river I grew up on so its hard not to. I manipulate them in the morning and evening. I like to give them a rest after I've manhandled them. Im amazed at the girth of DN.
