Live Stoner Chat hello fellow auto lovers

Make a thread, Canadians unite.

Do Canadians have secret rings with maple leaves on them that glow when Canadian are near...

Hey @captcold and welcome to AFN dude

Hello - welcome to There's a couple things about you that I like already !
Number one, your first Auto's were one of my all time favorites, Jack Herer :d5:

I also think it's fantastic that you came early to get acquainted and do some research.
There's so much to take in and sort through. Awesomely informative stuff in the threads, like
"When to harvest your Autos - Your leaves will tell you"

I've attempted one outside grow, and from that learned about things I never dreamed I'd ever
hear of, like Spittle Bugs, Aphids, and Spider Mites - and then the little helpers like Nematodes
and Lady Bugs. If your anything like me (sounds like you are) then you find this whole thing greatly entertaining and therapeutic.
I wish you the best of luck in your endeavor. Will you be starting your girls indoors ? Seedling can succumb to the elements REALLY quickly
in my experience, especially if there are any environmental extremes early on.
:2cents:You'll have a much higher success ratio if you give your girls a 2 week head start:2cents: :weed::peace::weed: :goodluck:
Hey @Tetra9 ..........I can't find the thread " when to harvest autos.....your leaves will tell you".....any suggestions how to find it pls

Check the trichs, cloudy with some amber.
Do you have a loupe or 30-60x scope?
I just read @muddys's life cycle on autos, I have a purple ryder that is in week 11(day 75) and all pistils are still white, they just starting to crinkle a bit, will it be ready next week?:LikeWeed:

Hey Dudeski, I avoid telling people to check their trichs because I am finding that Auto Trichs can mature unevenly, especially compared to photos.
Have you ever noticed this? Or am I cray cray ?
Do you know what I mean ?
On a photo plant, Amber trichs on the main = amber trichs on the Satellites , where my Autos can have Amber Trichs on the Main bur clear and cloudy on the Satellites. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me ? Please know I'm not saying your wrong, what you said is tried and true....I'm just wondering if your inclined to agree with me, or if perhaps maybe you have experienced this on some level, and know of a remedy besides staggered harvesting? :weed::peace::weed:
I might re-ask this in the live stoners thread, curiosity is running full steam now !

You'll prolly scream once you read this, like why send me on a reading scavenger hunt and then say this, but here goes...lol. for me personally, after reading everyone's advice and techniques I ended up settling on one key signal that my plants are done. All I do is watch the pistils and the calyx. When the calyx swallow up the pistils, you'll see the plant practically stop taking up water and notice the buds really got fat on you. The weight and density come from the calyx swell ! By the time this happens, the plant is good and mature, with a nice ratio of Amber to Cloudy buds. I've harvested more than one plant before it's time, and this is what works best for me. Once this happens, there isn't much left for the plant to do besides grow seeds if it's pollinated. THC production halts and pre-existing THC begins to degrade into CBD on so on.
Did you know, the reason the Calyx envelops the pistil? In nature, when pollinated, the pistil grabs hold of the pollen, the calyx "swallows" the pistil, and then together they grow a seed ? Amazing ehh ? As I understand it, the delicious resin and THC we all love and adore is a wonderful consequence of the female plants desperate attempt to reproduce.
