Well it's a nice warm sunny spring day here in the UK so I thought i would take the hound for a walk to my local grow shop...
Well that was an hour of my life wasted all the guy wanted to do was sell me a big ass tent with 600w hps inside along with "you'll need this bag fan and filter etc etc"
I tried explaining exactly what I needed either 250w T5 or some 125w cfl's but no "there no good for what you want you need this and this and this" all total nonsense and the opposite of everything I've learnt on here so far.
Thanks for having such an awesome site like this you guys have already saved me money

Thanks Happy that would be great. Out of the couple of grow shops I have locally one is all about the hard sell trying to get you to buy the most expensive this plus a whole load of stuff you don't need or want and the other is a bit more laid back but have the attitude that your going to want to be some kind of weed lord supplying the nation with your buds neither of which I like much as neither can help me to my goal of being self sufficient in my meds.
I suppose this is down to lack of knowledge here in the UK as to this kind of set up they even go as far as saying don't use auto's you'll only get 1/4 oz if lucky bla bla
Realistically on my first grow i'll be happy to 1/2 oz per plant then improve from there but I digress
Yes Happy if you could point me in the direction of a reputable grow shop here that would be fantastic

Personally, I love my T5 (just be sure it's H.O) with CFL's to pick up the slack.

Yes I understand our cousins from across the pond don't quite get our sense of humor yet my Dad lives in LA and when visiting it's so easy to wind his neighbours up and they just don't get it

If I understand the science behind this, the U.S Eastern seaboard would be underwater right now if not for our dry neighbors to the East?
And I thought England was a temperate zone. A 5 oz bird could not possibly carry a 1 lb coconut.

England "temperate" I don't know about that all I know is it's wet most of the time
We get half decent summers though with a few weeks of sunshine enough to get a decent outside grow most years but house move has put paid to that this year hence the auto's.
All advice given is greatly received as i'm a total novice to growing indoors.

PS If anyone knows how to recover photo's from icloud then I can post more pics of previous outdoor grows

H.O T5's are all I've used so far, with CFL's on the side. I'm really getting the urge to try LED, but that'll be down the road a bit.
