Lighting Hello LED World, LED Convert here- Dark Devil & Think Different Grow

That's cool bro, it's all about finding the sweet spot for your own panel!
Your custom specs look like it's going to be brilliant for flowering so that might have an effect on your stretch too during veg.
Once they get bigger you should find the luxury of having two panels lets you angle them slightly and hit them from both sides as well as the top :)

I grew with hps for 5 years and am about 18 days into flower with my first LED grow (photoperiod plants), very stoked so far. The temps are so easy to keep into check. I haven't had an electricity bill come in yet for a full month of use so I can't comment there yet. I also haven't gotten a kill-a-watt to check actual electricity draw but I plan on doing that soon. Good idea getting two panels instead of just one large one, I kind of wish I went with 2 smaller panels, or perhaps even two of the one I bought for more floor coverage, but that can be remedied :woohoo:

Hey Bilbo, I have a long way to go since I'm just getting familiar with my new units, but in due time.

Hey Gadget, thanks for stoppin by, I actually just replied to a post of yours in another thread, then realized it's not yours and I'd be contributing to a hijacking. So here it is....

I got faith you'll do just fine. I'm in the same boat as far as LEDs being new to me. I used MH/HPS before, there seems to be a few benefits to LEDs, temps I'd have to say is the most noticeable, I am finding it so much easier to control them now. Are you going to be adding any uvb to it as well? I purchased two 26w uvb bulbs and two cheap lamps for less than $30 and it def helps with trich production. Good luck on your grow, do you have a journal, I looked for one but didn't see it.

No real grow journal to speak of here, I'm in a weird space/time continuum. I ordered some auto seeds, took for ever to show up so I got some clones going and started flowering them... for now I just hover the LED forum and post random pics of my photo plants since we're on an auto site (and I LOOOOVE this site btw)

Here is a pic from tonight Day 18 since sight of flower. Very happy with LED so far

Morning to all my co-conspirators, that's right even if you are one of the lucky ones to be in a legal state, I'm not, not yet, and you are all my co's , hahaha . ok then where was I.

OK well I think it's day 24, they are still tiny but starting to spread out a little, I don't think I had raised the panels enough to really make them work for it, although they are at about 28" above the plants. I will just need time to tweak things with these new panels, can't expect everything to go smoothly.
So as for the plants they are all about 11-12 inches (which is much smaller than any previous grow for 24 days, let me know if I'm wrong and just being a too worried) except the one DD, I don't even know if it is a DD, they all came in the same pack however nothing looks similar despite the fact it's stunted and split into two mains, it has different leaves and deformed leaves at that, there is on leaf that split into almost two whole leaves. The entire plant is deformed, odd shaped, not only a different pheno, almost like entirely diff plant. (pics below)

She's definitely unique! Let her do her thing, tho. She might end up with those ultra sticky, funkadelic, John Blaze buds for you, chief.

This is a record, I usually only post once or twice in a week.

Hey Bandit, I don't think she's gonna do much of anything bro, I only keep her around cause she's unique and it's not costing me much more.

As for the rest, well the one DD is starting to grow, she gained 2 inches yesterday so she's at a lil over 14" Still not big but hoping she gets there in the next 3 weeks

The others are a little smaller but with the exception of two non have shown pistils yet, hmm it happens, actually glad it's held off this long, as long as nothing is wrong causing it....

I've been slack, should have made my cuttings already, even got my cloning powder but haven't had the nerve to cut any of em up, I'm bein a bitch, some have rumored if it's right before sexing it could shock the plant, autos are touchy in that regards.. Supposedly

Oh well gonna have to try it today, well see... Keep ya posted on that as I screw things up somehow

here's a pic from this morning, looks redundant but oh well

Thanks

You can root cuttings from autos but they wont become true clones and there usually runts and give very little smokable buds.If you take a cutting from a fem at say two or three weeks that cutting will also be that age and already going into flower mode and will not veg enough to make any thing worth while. This is why cloning is not recommended.

Hey Bandit, No worries bro, as Namvet says it's not true cloning, I apologize for misleading you. What I am doing is taking cuttings - which I won't expect much from as far as size & I'm going to spray them with colloidal silver in hopes of stressing her out to produce pollen sacks(nodules) or whatever they're called and pollinating another small cutting. This in turn should give me feminized auto seeds. A lot of people have been doing this and being very successful with it. Here is a link to a thread of other users such as myself doing this exact trial run and posting results.
https://www.autoflower.org/f8/self-pollinating-create-more-seeds-34820.html

Also the cutting or portion of any plant that has been sprayed with the colloidal silver cannot be smoked, so yield isn't a factor in this instance

Again sorry for the confusion and thank you for the compliments..

Namvet, thank you for stoppin by and the clarification, always appreciated..

FREE, NAM, thanks for taking the time to provide a brotha with some valuable and interesting information. FREE, I have been reading about colloidal silver, and look forward to trying my hand at making some fem seeds, but that is a ways off, though. When I do give it a run, I'll be giving you a holla.

No doubt Bandit, you can watch my attempt here if you like and hopefully learn what not to do. Cause I'll prob learn the hard way, I always do. So I'm goin out to chop off a couple and put em in soil, I'm supposedly not to put them into soil but start them off like reg clones. Well I don't have a humidome or anything, I don't have rockwool, so I'm not off to a great start, lol. I do have 86% humidity where I'm out, it sucks most of the time.

Keep me posted

Oh, believe me, FREE, I'm subbed in! Shit, I can save a whole lot of money on buying fem seeds by watching this journal.
