I grew with hps for 5 years and am about 18 days into flower with my first LED grow (photoperiod plants), very stoked so far. The temps are so easy to keep into check. I haven't had an electricity bill come in yet for a full month of use so I can't comment there yet. I also haven't gotten a kill-a-watt to check actual electricity draw but I plan on doing that soon. Good idea getting two panels instead of just one large one, I kind of wish I went with 2 smaller panels, or perhaps even two of the one I bought for more floor coverage, but that can be remedied

I know this is a little late. I figured out what exactly a 300w 3w * 100 Led Panel costs in electricity. There are two different prices in my area .045 Cents, and .092 per kw/hr so I did it for the more expensive. A 300w LED only draws 170w so 170* 20 Hours a day* 30 Days a month = 102000 watts / 1000( Electricity is sold is in kilowatts = 102 Kilowatts) * .092 cost per kw/hr = $9.38 per Month You can just find out what your panel draws, and then go to your power companies web site to find the price per kilowatt

Hey Panic thanks for stoppin by, for anyone who didn't know how to estimate your monthly expense now you do, although the exact amount any unit can consume and or cost may vary so what Gadgetguy is wanting is an kill-a-watt, a meter that measures how much each unit draws specifically and then he will calculate the draw times cost per kill-a-watt and have an exact figure amount.

Ok, so here we are I just went and took two cuttings. I was so heart broken cause there doesn't seem to be very many sites yet to begin with and now.. sniffle sniffle

What I did was take one from a DD and one from a TD, they were small ones and I am not sure how that will affect this. I wasn't chopping the nice hefty looking ones. In the past for cuttings they were photos and not autos so being that they are just starting to show sex I am not sure how that will affect things either, not being in veg for any amount of time and trying to get something manageable. So as I do everything I learned not too, we're on our way.
As I was saying, I took small cuttings as seen in 1 pic, and sliced downward about a 1/4" from bottom at an angle, then gently scrapped about an inch around of the bottom outside stem to help promote rooting, then I also made a few little slits and dipped em in the rooting agent, some cheap shit from homedepot, and placed them in solo cups of promix soil, I didn't use ffof at all but I did make up a lil cup of nutes and soaked the soil first. Finally have them in the room with the rest, another thing I prob shouldn't have done although as stated I don't have a humidome or anything and my humidity is at 82% right now with potential to go up as the weather starts looking more like this area.

Fingers crossed. I don't wanna pay for seeds if I don't have to, things aren't cheap.
Next grow I won't wait as long and hopefully "if" things do need tweaking, ha, it will be something small

Another day, I feel like I'm posting too much. I didn't intend on posting very frequently however I guess boredom is having its way.

So it's day 27, they all seem a lil small but looking very good, except my two headed monster. I have one DD breaking 18" the rest of them are about 16" I don't know if there is anything I could have done differently other than change the light height. I do tend to be a real lazy grower. Really.. I almost just put them out and let them do what they do anymore, when I change to dwc I won't have the luxury or the mess and also hope my yields double.
So I have a new addition to the Fam, we found a random seed in a bag she got last week and I planted her yesterday morning and she popped sometime over night. Obviously a crip seed but I'm sure it's a photo seed, oh well it popped and I will veg it then throw her outside when she comes of age.
As for the cuttings, well I am sure I should have cut the lower fan leaves off as normally instructed but since they are from autos and I'm not vegging them for any amount of time I figured they could use the extra leaf surface to absorb the energy, they look a lil wilty (just the fans) but I'm hoping it will pass and having left those on will prove to be a benefit.

I think I messed up with my light height on my TD, too. Made her real bushy, but she didn't do too much height wise. It's cool, though. Another mistake I get to fix during my next grow. I ain't trippin'.

Bandit: yea bro I've found there is a height diff for each of the lights I've ran, in the past I ran 1000w mh/hps, then after some life altering events I picked it back up with the 600w mh/hps and now on the leds, so I may end up with short plants this grow ( which so far hasn't given my girl any confidence in me ) but I'm sure I'll have the kinks worked out soon..
She's just mad about the previous two grows only giving us 3-5 ozs, she smokes a lot, she wants things to start off like a Tang or Seymour grow, next grow baby,ha, prob not since I'm switching to dwc, but in due time, in due time.

Morning Ladies and Gentlemen, today's update Day 30... I think

So things are looking good so far, I've had considerable growth with one of the DDs, she has been averaging 2" a day for the past 4 days then got a feeding yesterday and grew 3.5", she literally grew an inch within a couple hours after feeding.The other DD and the TDs are about the same size, averaging 18-20" and looking like they are about to take off themselves, just really starting to pre flower so we should see some good growth in those soon. Hmm, my lil two headed anomaly is at 10.5", crazy, doesn't look like she's gonna do much of anything but I'm still keepin her around. Novelty purposes I guess. I still haven't started my cs test yet, I am debating on whether I should isolate a branch or two on the good plants and spray or wait to see what the cuttings do, which it might take too long to develop roots and I'll have wasted an opportunity. What to do.. That's pretty much it, have a little baby photo on its way, hopefully it's at least a fem.
