hello. im 55 and just now starting my first real grow . tried to do it back in the 70's but there wasn't any internet or much info back then, plus I was a teenager and knew everything,lol. im doing a small grow to sustain myself. I have a 4 foot x 2 foot x 4 foot tall cabinet that I built with ventilation, heat and im using cfl lighting until I can afford better lighting. ive learned a lot in a couple of days on this forum. great place.

Welcome elsamurai, I am in the middle of my first grow and I could not have gotten this far without all the help I have gotten from AFN. Its a fun hobby. Don't worry about asking to many question, especially as you get started. Everyone is very helpful. Here is a link to my grow. Welcome Elsamurai - Yes AFN is a great site, especially if you plan to grow autos.

The best advice is to start a grow journal in the "new growers" section. Provide as much detail as possible your setup, grow medium, strain your growing etc. The experts keep a close eye on this area to help those of us who are in need. If dire needs arise, there is always the 24 hour help line.

I am in the same situation as you (a few years older) and I have learned an awful lot and I haven't even started my grow yet.

ive ordered autoflowers but im working out the bugs in my cab with donated photoperiod bag seed. took about a week to get the temps right. hopfully I will be near the end of this r & d grow to start my autos

Nah, probably not. Ho hum.

You know what, you are starting on exactly the same path that I took. Cheap n cheerful in a cupboard. Reading up on it all at AFN and getting stuck in.
