Hello everyone this is my first post, im new to the growing, done only one grow outdoors.

So here is the quesiton, I'm building small closet operation, I'm going to buy 400w or 250w hps/mh, and my closet is 1,00 m wide, 0,8 deep, and 1,20m high. I don't know if I would need cool tube or some just exhaust fan to blow the hot air out, and I'm also going to install intake fan aswell. So I would be very much apriciated for your help and your opinions on my ventilation problem.

So what are you saying, should I buy cool tube or what? I was thinking to buy this PC fan, Ventilator Noctua NF-P12-1300.

Defiantly gona need to extract hot air out of closet with 400w hps. I was using cfl bulbs in a slightly smaller space an needed extraction!! Not an expert but height might an issue as you only got 1.2m aswell.
Hope this helps.

How much are you willing to spend? I'd get a LED light if I were you. Much less problems with ventilation.

Hi Power P I have a cool tube, but would have been able to cope with a 6" rvk fan and 6" rhino pro filter just make sure that your fan and filter match up I tried a 5" filter with my 6" RVK with a reducer and still had problems temps soared!!! even with a cool tube just could not cope. Best move I made was upgrading to the right sized filter now temps are spot on.

Hey and Welcome!
If you have not purchased the light yet, LED May be a better choice, especially when temps are a concern. The cost would be comparable when cooling is figured into the HID costs.
Peace and happy growing! :karma Cloud:

Welcome to the family Cubick ....:smokebuds:you will need a exhaust fan sized properly for your space , and if you can, passive intake is a good option if not the salemen should be able to size your fans for your intake and outtake air are those the correct size of your space ..when you can stop over to the intro section and say hello to the other members ..Once again welcome!!!!

Very much appreciated for your help. And for LED lights, yes, the cost is issue for me. I can take 250hps/mh lights but, I think it will seriousely get smaller yields. The cost of electricity ain't problem for me (cuz' I'm not payin' it :D) so bigger ventilation fan would be an option for me. The reason why I'm against cool tube is that it will cost me 30€ + ducting, which can only be bought 10m is also 20-25€. I just can reason with it, and it pisses me off cuz' I can't order from other sites like amazon and etc. the shipping will be way overpriced. If you have any suggestions to DIY stuff, please, send me some links. Thanks in advance. :peace:

Also here is the best avaible vent fan for me. Specs:
Airflow (m3 / h) 280
Statistical pressure (Pa) 68
Engine speed (rpm) 2650
Audibility (db (A) m) 47
Power (V / Hz) 230/50
Max operating temperature (° C) 40 ° C
Weight (kg) 0.70

I am not good with metric, but isn't 100 m the same as 100 meters?

Anyway, you are going to have heat issues. Would a set of 4 foot T5 cfls work?
If you can't get some serious ventilation in there, you may want to start looking
at alternatives.
