New Grower help diagnose whats wrong with my big bang! newbie

A quick update, she surfaced on the 26th, and has been repotted as I did not add perlite in my mix. Hopefully it's not stunted for too long, I am seeing a bit more yellowing on the veins of the leafs, and have got another seed germinating for an outdoor pot grow. I will not be using MG compost anymore and am considering store brand multi purpose compost. Any suggestions? I need advise on UK based nutes as well if anyone has any experience please let me know.

Firing a blunt of girl scout cookies....good night.

I use Plagron batmix or grow mix. The Lightmix is better for autos IMO. Its about a tenner a bag at the garden centre. I believe the common one used is John Innes from B&Q.

As a feed I've just switched to Bio Nova supersoilmix and Supersoil Pk 13/14

Here's a grow on the go at the mo.....pmsl using those nutes.

Hey dude :-)

Thanks for your informative post, I am checking out the link to your grow too, how's it going along? I have a noobie question for you, is it normal for my 1 week old big bang to be yellowing and forming Brown spots? I thought this was nute burn and flushed the plant, but since flushing two days ago it's going more and more yellow as the days are going by

I bought babybio incase it's nute deficiancy as I've researched and seems like it's lacking PK, and some magnesium. I'm not sure, what's your opinion?

First time grower and I've made so many mistakes!!!

Hey man,

I wish I could jump in and give you a definitive answer, but I think you are on the right path with the minerals you named...

One thing that helped me was searching for instructional videos on youtube pertaining to mineral deficiencies. I'll try to find the one
that discusses this yellow spotty symptom.

Back in a sec. - here we go (funny old hippy with a hilarious back drop but hey, data is data and it seems like he's not just making it up)

I am new just like your self but few questions for you bud. When you repotted, did you use MG again? I know you said you are still having issues. But also from my understanding you do stress the plant when you transplant as well. As autos really do not like to be transplanted.

How often are you watering, and are you adding any nutes atm? And are you checking your PH level of the water and the run off? If so, could you list that for us?

Thanks.

Hi sauce, I used John's inn seed compost, no added nutes with 40% mix of perlite. I am watering when 2 inches of the top soil is dry. I haven't checked the run off for the last watering but the ph levels of the water is 6.5. My meter doesn't seem to be accurate as it fluctuates on nearly every watering.

I have another big bang growing in the original MG with the slow release nutes, I flushed it with 5 litres and will give it a week to settle.

How do I start a grow journal? I'm confused

Just start a thread called "Zain123's Big Bang Grow Journal" or whatever and log what you have, what you're doing, pics of your progress...

It's a good way to keep all questions and answers, suggestions, advice, etc. all together in one place for reference instead of bouncing around
to different threads. It's also a great way to allow grow veterans to easily track your progress.

As to where to start it...many places seem to be appropriate based on what focus you want...

New Growers
Indoor Growing
New LED Growers (for folks with LED's obviously)
Seed Breeder specific sub-forums (although there isn't a GreenHouse section in your case)
I, personally opted for right here...New Growers

I think it might be burn when u watered with nutrients and a drop got a leaf. anyway its looking nice. Did u maybe check for some buggs?

Just wonder, is it a digital? If so have you calibrated it?

Also please check the run offs(Next watering). And before watering pick up the pot and feel the weight. Then check it again after you water to get used to that feel. They say that's the best way to tell if you are in need of a watering.

But do check your run offs, can tell you a lot about your soil.

I think it was mostly due to the 100% MG mix. I think it may recover but my guess is it will be a bit slower due to a transplant. There are some who do grow with MG, I think they do a few other things to it, IE mix perlite and such. I dont think it's good for a new user to use just from what I have read.

defo have brown spots appearing. I think if things do not pick up and get greener I will scrap and start again. Quite dissapointed at my efforts, I was looking forward to harvest day.

Will not make the same mistakes with the lowryder 2 i have coming within the next two days.

Has anyone else got any experience they'd like to share with me for their first ever grow?

Firing up another spliff, peace out.
