Hi all,
I'm new to the forum and just about to start my first auto grow, I've done a few hardcore guerrilla missions in the wilderness and been party to a few indoor photoperiod grows too, so I'm very much still a noob. However I have loved this plant for a relatively long time and am a bit of a nerd so I I'm not completely 'green' figuratively speaking.

Owing to circumstance i can't use HID lighting due to heat and power consumption. I did some research and came across and settled on Tangs magic formula which I really like in both concept and results. I have to say when autos were in their gestation period I was incredibly skeptical and slated them as a farce. Fool that I am. So here's my intended setup:

4-6 plants (thinking dp auto whitewidow and/or blueberry).
3 * grow northern ms0006.
120 cm sq tent.
4" rhino pro carbon filter and exhaust fan.
Passive intake with 4" carbon filter (hoping to only run exhaust intermittently to allow co2 build up).
Exhale co2 bag.
Advanced nutrients using tangs schedule as a guide.
airpots and plagron light.

I'm pretty set on this and I know there are alternatives to AN but I like the ease of the ph perfect and have the money for the initial outlay.

I have a few questions and I'm sure I'll have many more in the weeks to come.

Firstly, I plan on letting the co2 build up and then venting several times a day to refresh the air. Is this a good idea? And if so how many times a day?

secondly, I'm going to test this before I get started but am waiting for bits to arrive, but if anyone's knows whether the space will heat up significantly with this setup (and hence scupper my plan for the exhaust) the heads up would be greatly appreciated.

Thirdly, grow northern don't give hanging heights for their lights explicitly so if anyone could point me to this information that would also be great, as well as any suggestions about position and coverage. I have an idea about this I.e. angling two inwards and having one central, facing down, so at least two plant would be covered by two lights.

i also have questions about whether it would be best as an inexperienced grower to spread my bet over more plants or just to focus on 4?

Finally I have a few questions directed to tang about his/your methods, i wont post them but if you read this/give a s**t the help would be great.

Many thanks and hello.

welcome to the forum th.there is plenty of journals on the grow northern lights they look like nice leds mate.i currently run 500w in a 2x2 ft tent and reach maximum 28 with co2 i exhaust and refresh air every 2 hours mine seem to be great.i use a co2 boost bucket so if your system for co2 is different then cant really help you7 with that.but seems like you will grow sum great plants with that setup.welcome again.everyone here is great and will help you no end.peace

Hay TH. Welcome to your new home lol glad your here. Your set up sounds killer bro and the combination of AWW and ABB will be worth growing for the smell alone lol hanging heights with the light on full power are....

75cm seedling stage (first week)

60-45cm through veg

30cm bloom.

What size and type of pots are you growing in? You could start 6 then choose the best 4 if you run out of room.

LEDs do run cool but they do let out some heat which will build up if you seal the room,I know CO2 can allow you to grow at slightly higher temps but you will defo need to run your tests first. Maybe something for the winter months?

Wow that was the quickest response I've ever got from a forum... And they say stoners are lazy! Cheers for that that's really helpful info.

UKfreak:

thanks I will try running the exhaust every two hours, I was hoping to have the fan running less though.

Tang:

I'll be using 15 or 20l airpots, yeah that sounds like a good idea start 6 cull 2 if all goes well.

I'll have to see how my tests go fingers crossed I'll be able to keep the temps down and the co2 up.

I wanted to ask you if you use the plagron light terra mix or the Dutch, I've never used formulated substrates before only my own dodgy mixes.

Also I was going to follow your nute schedule and I know you have the rebel upgrades, which I won't. Do you recon I should back off on the base nutes and if show you couldn't recommend a rough idea of how much?

Thanks again guys.

the exhaust could be done less than that mate its just what i have it set to im only in a 2x2ft tent pal your setup alot different test it out im sure it be less for you.im currently using plagron royalty mix

Its the Plagron light mix I use bro and you will be fine with the schedule I'm using it under some non rebel MS0004s now....if you see any nute burn in the tips just back the base nutes off a little.

Wicked, I will definitely run proper tests before getting started. Nice one for that guys, I've gotta bop, but I will post any more questions in this thread if that's cool?

I'm not very good with forums so I don't really get how it all works and probably never will... Massively dyslexic. I'll start a grow journal too once I'm up and running, should be in the near future...ish.

Hello and thanks again.
