Hello folks I'm new to autos but I'm a rather experienced photoperiod grower...soo here's my problem I would like to hear some opinions on..I ordered 20 beans from herbies and they were kc45 brain autos. Alright so what happen was I had one of those mini jiffy "greenhouses" and planted the beAns in said jiffy pots and then placed the greenhouse out in a field and unfortunately it got up into the 80*s on those days with bright sunlight 2days later I come back and find nothing very interesting has happened yet though the jiffies were a wee bit dry so I pop the top of the greenhouse and discover that the plastic container is warped and the whole thing is hot too the touch and I'm afraid that this "greenhouse" may have had a magnifying glass effect on the beans so I moved them inside and it has now been roughly 10 days since planting and I still have yet to see any heads pop up..so I have gotten impatient and dug out a few seeds and all the seeds have cracked and have some tail showing but they seem to be in some form of seed shock or something...so my question is what should I do should I toss them or should I wait and see?

Hi Pstone - Welcome to AFN!

:welcome: :welcome: :welcome:

10 days after planting i'd expect to see some action, although I know from experience that letting those jiffys get really dry doesn't help things at all.
I'm guessing the "mini greenhouse" (propagator?) didn't have a vent.

I never like to give up on them, so if you got the space, i'd pop em somewhere and see what happens - but while waiting, get some more seeds down.

I'm a big fan of the paper towel germ method - i always used to like to just drop em in jiffys or soil and just wait it out, but these days i need to see the tap root before i sow.

Maybe next round see if you can get them started indoors first (if you plan to grow outside).

Hey, why not pop up a "hello" over at introductions for a nice warm welcome from our members! :)

Happy growing Pstone!
All the best

Keep them moist and wait and see if they pop and keep them away from direct sunlight.

Alright thanx folks and no there was no vent and when sowing I usually throw 3or4 beans on each one and clip off the weaklings but with autos that gets expensive...lol so next time I'll do the old fashioned paper towel method:) but no worries I've also got 35 blue mystic auto and 20 Himalayan blue diesel autos Rollin along nicely thanx for the opinions
