The difference on the to 3500k are CRI value. 80 vs 90. My understanding the higher the CRI the better. Cob kits also has the 90 https://cobkits.com/product/citizen-clu048-1212-90cri-choice-of-color-temps/. I have no info in the 4000k.

I wish I had the chart to pass on with the difference between 80&90 cri. @Jupiter has a tramp stamp tattoo of them maybe he can chime in.

How many drivers in the mars 300? I saw some with 2 and some with 4. I really need some cheapo's to replace burnt out ones and I also promised to do a conversion here for the folks of afn.

I can dig it up but essentially the 90cri is more centered on 630nm I believe. Making it a little better for flower but I think you take a slight hit in veg intensity.

Thanks for the replies guys,I see eBay have cluo38 which are a 58.8w can I run these instead of the cluo48 as the old mars drivers will only run around 25w and the cluo38 are half the price.hey Big smo I have 4 drivers and if the cluo38 worked I could run all 4 as I have an old heat sink and some fans for active cooling

I'm not to educated on the 038's. They are definitely smaller than the 048. Does anyone know efficiency numbers?

Your mars has 4 drivers Kavo? You should probably stick with the 1212's and run 4 per light. 100 watts 50+par watts vs 30par watts and 2 drivers to spare. That's a solid upgrade.

Happy I could help my man but no need to thank me. Helping people out and playing with lights is about the most fun thing I could imagine doing.

If your up to it some photos would be great if not we can just imagine how well it came out.
