Hi all,

After a few runs of photos I am back to the autos. With summer coming I wanted to switch to LED and downsize my grow.

I am building a 15x15 x 42 inch tent out of panda and PVC. I purchased the Apollo 75w UFO LED. 50 Watts actual Draw. That puts me near the 30w per foot goal. I can supplement with some CFL or household LEDs if I feel it needs it.

I'm just growing 1 Mango Kush Ryder in a 3 gal smart pot. Using Happy Frog dry ferts with RO water and Cal/Mag. Fox Farms OF soil.

Here is my question. Will this light yield good results? I know it's not the greatest light, but this is just a small hobby grow. Also How high do I need to keep this lamp from my canopy
? It uses 3w epistar chips.. 120 degree angle.

Awesome Grow! This is an experimantal grow for me. How to use as few watts and as little space as possible while producing beautiful plants. My current setup uses 300w of HPS, Takes up half of my personal closet and make my room 3 degrees hotter than the rest of the house. NO FUN! My elec bill is an extra $40 bucks per month.

So to answer your question..
Light Spectrum: 460nm, 610nm, 630nm, 730nm

I wasn't too peticular about the light. I just need 50w of actual draw for this space. I can supplement with more household or grow lights.. I am thinking of putting a 24 watt Fluoro right near the base for under-lighting..

I really wanted an area 51 Rw75, but I'd need to wait a month to get it and there is a new version coming out soon.

with the 120 lens I go fairly close about 12-18 in.i have a similar led ufo right now its 4-5 in from the top of a main cola of a plant 10-15 days from harvest with no problems.the 120 spreads the light out more=wider coverage/less penetration and a 60 degree is more focused= better penetration/less coverage with 90 being a happy medium. at least that's how I understand it.it should do good in your small area, maybe a 6500k cfl or 2 to supplement during veg.
my concern though is with your soil and nutes. sounds a bit hot for auto seedlings. just a thought.

Yea, I'd love to trust the LED to flower, but I don't think I'll be able to help myself. I'll likely add a few cfl's or a household led or just say screw it an pop it under my 150w hps :)

The soil may be hot. It look ok so far. The nutes are in the lower level of the soil. Other than that it's just fox farms and perlite.

INTRODUCING THE AUTOCHAMBER!

I have this thing dialed in now. It's pretty sweet.

16 x 16 x 42
Panda film with tarp zipper
1 75 w (50 true watts) Apollo LED
Carbon scrubber with axial fan attached instead of vortex.
Temps hover about 3 degrees above ambient.

Pics will be posted soon.
