Hey guys,
Would be awesome to get some experienced opinions on how far off from harvest I am.
This is my first grow, just running 2 autos for personal medicinal use. First one is an Advanced Seeds Auto Blue Diesel & second one is a Fast Buds Girl Scout Cookie Auto.
Growing under 200 watts of Cree Cxb3590 LEDs in Canna Coco Professional with Cana nutes.
Currently at day 70 of the grow, both seeds were planted on the same day. I guess the 8 weeks advertised was a bit optimistic.
The Auto Blue Diesel is significantly bigger and more developed than the GSC.
Attached 2 photos of each plant, one of main cola and one close up of the trichome development on the main cola. To me, I'm just starting to see a couple amber trichomes appear, hence why I haven't harvested yet. I am trying to produce a balanced medicine, don't want it to be just a head high.
Also done extensive of research on the 24-72 hours of darkness before harvest, still undecided on if this is worth while. There appears to be a big divide on this, some people swear by it, others are adamant it is a myth. Would be awesome if you could shed some light on this, particularly with relation to autoflower strains.
One last bit of info, about week ago I discovered spider mites, I'm pretty sure I caught them pretty early but has been a lot of work to keep them at bay. Will definitely be using preventative measures in future grows, but all the research I've done indicates it would be a bad idea to use serious pesticides this late into flower.
So I have been just using a natural DYI chilli and garlic formula to wash them of the under side of the leaves, definitely helping but I have to reapply everyday, I'm being pretty careful not to spray the flowers. Taking this into consideration, what are thoughts on how far off these plants are from harvest and if I should use the 24-72 hours of darkness technique.
Apologies for the long post, any advice would be greatly appreciated!
