New Grower Help

Ive jut added about an inch of soil.

I can't really give info on the lightbulb because there is none. Just says 50W (yellow light with UV filter).

Here's a pic but not sure if that helps.

You want to be using a fluorescent bulb i honestly dont know what that one is

It doesnt have a K rating on the base of the Bulb?hmmm, well when you goto the hardware store just try n look for the right K rating.either on the Box and/or open it up n look at the outter base of the bulb and it should say something like 2600K or 6200K or something like that.ya broken up light schedules are a real bummer man Ive been down that road.UGH!Best Karma grooves rollin out for ya bro.And if you do decide to add soil just be watchful for any Dampoff since Ive been down that road once myself as well..LOL!:wiz: Be good brother!

Edit:yeah a CFL of no less than a T-8 maybe but a T-5 is the best for a CFL type, a standard long tube CFL is often the cheapest and most effective for the money. If memory serves around 2600K is for Veg and it progresses to around 6200K for flowering. And you can mix and match but just keep it simple brother and go with the flow it'll all workout my friend.but truly just slam on upto thLowes or something n look for a few standard CFL's that have the Proper K rating on them and yer golden bro n they run pretty darn affordable too.

Right, from that picture I would guess that it takes a halogen spotlamp bulb

Something like this.....

If this is the case then unfortunately dude, and someone will step in if I'm incorrect but these connot be used to grow any plants whatsoever.

So, next thing to do is as I said before, go and grab the highest watt energy saver bulb (the twisty one) you can and get it under one or two of those.

Secondly, did I read you have this set-up in a cardboard box??
For yours and your families safety please get rid of it, save it for later as it'll come in handy for curing but please do n ot use this for growing in, especially with a towel or sheet draped over the top. It's a fire waiting to happen.

Tick, tick, tick, tick.... BOOM

Don't Give up dude.
Everyones here to help.

Peace.

Like rival said that looks like a halogen spot lamp. i have one similar. That'' i think will burn your seedling. plus i think that halogens don't provide enough light. with halogens you would need to have the light up close and personal. and that's going to burn your plant...if it didn't burn...that still wouldn't provide the right spectrum. so therefore you might think upon moving it away from the seedling. that in-turn would cause stretching.

Anyway

you need to run off down to your nearest 99p shop an buy a few of these. If you live in the uk. then poundland or poundstretcher or that 99p shop or even Nickel n dime.

And like RivalFish said some CFL NRG saving lightbulbs. it might be hard to find cool whites 6400k. so just get the warm white variant at 2700k. they will do. and work throughout the stages of growth. i grew my first grow with 8 of these and was delighted with the result.

Lol, thats identical to my collection of those.

And ditto, I didn't expect much growing with those bulbs but my last plant topped out at a meter tall mini christmas tree.

Have faith dude, Peace

P.s

For now, until you can get your new lights your probably best off just sitting her in a windowsill to get whatever suns available.

ya I cant see a lot of pics.cuz I use Internet Explorer.doesnt work the greatest here.well most places really.LOL!ya man they gottcha brother dont sweat it.:wiz:
