Thanks everyone for the kind greetings!!! I really do appreciate it. I'm just beginning to get everything together for my first auto grow. As of now I've been ***lightly*** researching what needs to be done for auto flowers. So far I gotten what I need for soil and nutes. Grow tent(4x4) and seeds are on their way.

Next up is lighting, which to be honest I'm really confused about. It seems that auto flowers require a different set up than regular photo plants? Do people use HPS bulbs for autoflowers? I seen a lot of people using LED boards. Whatever those are, ha. Again not very familiar in this department. I will need to do some more research on this matter.

Soil= Using a super soil recipe along with some compost tea and some other goodies. More than happy to share what amendments and other stuff I will be using. Just let me know and ill drop the long list of ingredients that I have no way of pronouncing From my research I've been told as long as I follow the simple directions, everything will be pretty easy.... Tent= 4x4 gorilla tent

Pot sizes are 15 gallon Grassroots Fabric Pots... Not sure if that's overkill or not. From what I seen some growers like going smaller with autoflowers? Seen some pretty good lookin girls in just a solo cup. Now that's pretty cool.

Strains: So I wasn't really sure which breeders I should go to for gear.... So I ended up going with Mephisto Genetics and 420 fast budz. I kinda got a little to excited and bought a bunch of their stuff hehe

For my first run I would like to keep everything simple and not go overboard. So I plan on only running 3-4 plants. Sour Crack, Strawberry Nuggets, Lsd 25, and maybe a CBD strain


Lights and Smell control are next on my list.

hmmm...well, everything soundz good so far...except, um...15 gallon potz-? overkill-? well, me guess that dependz on ur definition of the word, lol uzually, somewhere between a solo cup & a bathtub is good haha! ok ok, me sorry me jus really stoned right now & that was too funnee to pass up :smoking: hehe

but anyhoo, ya, 15 gal is, well, big enuff, lol...buuuuut, 5 gal is uzually more like it, or smaller hell, me growin 2 NL girlz in jus 2-1/2 gal potz, lol...but, me do have some space limitation to contend with, so there'z that...but ya, i'd say a lotta peepz do go with between 2-5 gal most often probably...and wow, me jus considered how much soil that'll be in 15 gal...good thing they're fabric, or else u could have serious problemz with the soil drying out evenly between wateringz

but, i'm rambling, so i'll get me coat now & leave u to it... ppp

A big consideration for your choice in lights starts with your climate. Lights = heaters so if you live in a cool climate you can generally use any of them. If it gets hot then you need to think about keeping the heat out of your tent. HID lights will need air cooled housings. Many Led lights will have the ability to have the drivers outside of the tent so less heat inside. Don't fall for the LEDs are cooler bull shyte 1000 watts of LED = 1000 watts of HID light energy. A watt of energy is a watt of energy. Leds will give you more PAR light per watt used so you can use less wattage then HID lights which lowers temperatures in the tent. The next consideration is the cost of your power. I am running ~650 watts in my grow room and the cost is about $50 per month. If I were going to buy new I would look at QB boards a type of LED. I also supplement my DIY COBs with UVA and UVB florescent. The next consideration is spectrum Lean to blue for veg and red for flower so look for LED lights that offer veg and flower modes. With HID you use HPS for veg and flower.

There are a lot of choices so do the research and be sure to look for true watts not BS.

just an afterthought tip, but plant size is often determined by pot size if u want monster triffidz, then u can stick with ur huge potz, lol, but if u want plantz with a bit more manageable size for ur first go round, and thus, to give u a better idea as u go of what ur dealin with, i'd say 3 or 4 gal would be good u gonna stick with the fabric potz, or mebbe airpotz, or -?- just alwayz make sure the soil is well aerated (enter -> perlite), and that u've got good drainage...drill xtra holez in the bottom if u have to...and lookin slightly ahead, just remember that seedlingz don't need nutez for at least the first 3-4 weekz, and are better starting off in a more "neutral" soil and disclaimer -> i am by noooo meanz an expert, and all of this is just me own 2 ctz ppp

I have the same size tent as you do...four 5 gallon pots do really well and give plenty of room for your plants to spread out. I've run 7's and 10's in the past (along with 2's and 3's in higher plant numbers) and I think autos do the best in 5's. The two larger pots slowed things way down and plants went in the neighborhood of 100 days plus. 5 gallons allow for plenty of root space, and the plants tend to get large enough to fill out the tent (as long as you do your job).

This should give you an idea of the space taken up by four 5 gallon pots. You can fit 5 plants in there alright, and I do on occasion, but four plants tends to yield fairly well.

By the way, those are Cobshop cob led lights you see hanging. I run 5 in my 4x4 tent, but you can get away with 4 of them. The are super energy efficient and put off very little heat.
