Just sticking my head in to say hello as a Newbie. Got a pair of Vision Northern Lights on the go in a tent in the garage and will post some pics later. Made a number of first time grower mistakes which have lead to relatively small plants but I will probably be satisfied and make improvements next time.

Biggest surprise though was just how completely different two plants can look when they are both from the same batch. As you will see soon, one plant had broad, thick fan leaves and is very bushy whilst the other has thin fan leaves and a much more twiggy look. Certainly not identical twins!

More soon...

Why are they so different?
Different phenotypes. Autos seem to always have at least two, usually three phenotypes that may be expressed from any seed. No way to tell until you grow them out. Here is my Vision Northern Lights just days from harvest, Day 108. The grow is in my signature.

Wow... 108 days!! That is nearly twice as long as it said on the packet (57 days) !! It will be 90 days on 05th June and I have already been giving water only for the last three weeks thinking the grow "must" be coming to an end soon. Lesson learned for next time is to judge by the flowers and not the expectation from the packet. The mistakes that I have made...

1) Two unnecessary transplants
2) Small pot and not even filled with soil/perlite mix
3) No real feeding schedule - just occaisionally used a bit of tomato all in one nutrient
4) Ad hoc feeding stopped way too soon

Next grow will start in August and I have a two pot Autopot system just waiting in the wings. Only decision is which strain to pick. Torn between Fast Buds Pineapple Express and Brooklyn Sunrise for a different effect to the Northern Lights.

Just look at it as you can have two kids from the same parents and one can be 6ft and the other 5ft one has green eyes one has brown ect. Even though they are the same strain certain characteristics may show in some and not the other. Two plants of the same strain can be tolerant and not so tolerant to the same conditions. I have two going right now and one was not so tolerant to high lumens and the other had no problem. One is touchy to nutes where the other isn't you sometimes have to adjust the environment to the more sensitive plant. I pulled the lights up and the sensitive one was still stressing so I dropped it from 650 to 600 watt and along she goes.
