hi there guys,

first time grower in a tiny wee cupboard.......I bought NL from royal queen seeds as my first intention was to put them outside and I figured autos would be better in Scotland :-)

anyway decided to go for it indoors but due to space(600mmx400mm) I had to use 250w cfl, I have the cheap ass carbon filter kit and as you can see my temps are ok.......I think....ha.....

I potted into potting soil in smaller pots and translanted into the final pots a few weeks ago.....the final pots are a mixture of coco and the potting soil I had left over.....

I think the potting soil is coco based as it was dehydrated and I had to add water to make ten litres of soil.....I quite like the stuff....£5 off amazon.....I think it had nutrients banged in it but im not too sure......

anyway the larger plant is about 8 weeks old and has generally been ok.....the smaller of the two was started 10 days or so later and got fried when i left it on the window sill inside the propagator.....anyway all looks well now if a little stunted.

im using ionic soil grow and bloom and have switched over too the bloom on the bigger one....was this the right move???? I dunno........oh I run them 18/6 and I have just switch to red as the blue bulb blew 5 tubes but good old greens have sent a replacement no questions asked...:-).

now im a total noob at this so any advice could be helpful as in all honesty I don't have a clue and as it is approaching game time :-) I wanna be best prepared.......

see pics below and help me out please!!

Mike

First things first.....A massive AFN 'high' to you Weemike glad you've signed up to the friendliest place on the web! styles rasta Nice set of pics there and you've done well with your set up in that space (not dis-similar to my own!) theres's plenty of other 'magic cupboards' knocking around this place so you'll feel right at home mate! with regards to your temps, you'll be ok with that but ideally getting it down to around 78 would be better, but these freaky temps we've been having in the U.K aren't helping, i've been struggling myself with temps getting into the 90's! As for your soil & coco combo i'm not really experienced enough to help you out there dude, i grow in soil only i'm afraid. Try and re-post this thread in the new growers section and you'll deffo get the answers you need mate, i'll also send a heads up to some friends on here who are better placed to help you. Enjoy the site, and grow karma sent your way buddy.

thanx for the response mate.....yeah Its boiling up here....:-) quick question thou.......how do I move this post.......:-) total noob hahaha :-)

well i'll join you on the total noob score as i've no idea how to move the post either! lol! I've put a shout out for help for you though so some good people should be along to point you in the right direction before too long, they're from all over the globe mate so it might be tomorrow before someone shows up. Untill then buddy :smokebuds:

Welcome to the family! Great little grow space you got there. Soil only grower here so I can't help you with the coco, sorry. One thing I would strongly suggest is a ph meter, if you don't already have one. Your plants look nice and healthy, you've got one green thumb, keep it up!

thanx mate..............if you know of any skilled peeps be sure to draw their attention to this plz so they can come to my assistance!! thanx again!!

Hi Weemike and Welcome to the AFN Family styles rasta

combo of coco and soil? hum.. first time i`ve heard of that one.. and you are using ionic soil grow, wich i presume is soil neuts...

I`m growing in coco, so im only known with a+b neuts plus plus plus, but they are made specially for coco.but uhm...how much are you feeding them /L and how often?

my advice would be to either stick to coco, or soil and run a schedule that are set up for that medium  but lets se if someone more experienced than me has something to say about your mix. your plant looks healthy, but abit smal maybe

whats happenin man nice to see another scots man. you look like your doing pretty well to me much better stealth job tanme I was very low budget but if yu need a hand let me know

hold on te big ones 8weeks+? she flowering yet?

yeah mate...im a total noob haha...I bought potting soil which came dehydrated and I had to add water to make 10 litres of soil....im sure its coco based.......anyway my friend came up with a bag of coco and when I went to transplant them I just made a mix as I thought the potting soil would be familiar ground for it and make the transplant process easier......im feeding them 7ml per litre every 2-3 days :-)
