DirtWeed, a warm welcome from the penguin. Boy, we are getting a lot of new members defecting from I don't know where. You and your chums are very welcome to join us here at the AFN.
If I can be so bold, what was the reason for the sudden mini/mass exodus? I never was a member of any other weed forums so I cannot comment but I gather that some of them are a tad elitist in the treatment of junior members!

Thanks for the welcome, the mini mass exodus (lol) no just a hand full is all. I would expect the reasons are different for everyone, for myself with the influx of new members also came some issues with politeness and too frequent posting of useless crap just to get free seeds. I personally don't post real often, I share what I have done and ask questions to solve the issues as they arise. I try to pay forward and will only post an answer if I truly know the answer. There appears to be quite a few experts here and I look forward to learning from everyone.
I left for the same reasons as dirt weed. People were giving advice with no knowledge of the solution.
Then bringing back old posts, just to increase their post count. What made it worse was that none of the new people seemed to be posting any thing new and no info about their grows. Just meaningless posts and comments.

Hey guys, welcome aboard! I get what you're saying about some of the other sites & we definitely try and do things different here. You'll see in my sig an experiment that we're trying which is a Live Help thread for members who have questions. Someone in the staff will answer so you at least know that whoever responds has actually grown some plants and has some idea of what they're talking about. Not that we are always right or that other members don't have good answers as well, but it's a way to cut through all the chatter. Nothing worse that really needing some help and you have 5 different people telling you 5 different things & you don't know if any of them have a clue what's really going on. We also work hard to maintain the AFN vibe which means we do our best to support each other and have mutual respect from the site admins down to the newest member. Of course we fail sometimes and have our family squabbles, but a lot of the flaming, arguing and ridiculing that is common on other sites simply isn't tolerated here. :Sharing One:
