Day 3-

Top few inches were dry so I gave the girl some more water. Checked the PH of the run off and it was 6.7. I will admit I don't have the nicest PH meter it only cost me 15$. A nice high quality one is definitely in my future list. Looking forward to when she pops threw the soil!

Few questions today?

1. Should I cut a bottle to put over the top of the seedling to help with humidity?

2.Once she does pop threw the soil how long should I wait to move the lights closer? Right now there about 5-6 inches from the top of the soil.

Hi Hod, Looking at your RH you may want to cover that seedling to retain some humidity. When you get to flowering it'll be fine. I have that same pH meter and after about 6 months I replaced it with a better one. But just getting some 7.01 calibration fluid will put your mind at ease. I grow under LED but from what I understand about CFLs you can move them within 2"-3" of the plant. I think you should be more concerned with the heat they throw rather than the amount of light. Keep up the good work! :tiphat:

Day 4-

So far so good on doing a daily check in, hopefully I don't start to slack off in the upcoming days haha.

Still nothing threw the soil yet, hoping Friday or Saturday will be the get I get to place my eyes on her. Added just a dash of water around the edges of the pot as it was starting to separate from the side. Also added the sandwich bag to help with humidity and the soil drying out so fast.

I like your setup man. Love the small mini cabs. Lots of fun to be had in those things. You can really baby your plant this way.
You can get some real amazing smoke out of these mini cab grows man. Looks like you got a lot of good advice so far. So, Im not sure if I have anything to add at this point right now. Ill be sticking around. Ill help with what I can. I am by no means an expert.

Though, I do lightly spray the top soil once a day to keep it moist since I dont put a humidity dome over mine. If the top soil looks like its drying before it goes above soil. A little spray here and there will help.

Thank you! Looking forward to having you along for the ride! I wish I would of thought about the spray bottle for the top soil, will def be using that method from know on! The wait for her to pop threw the soil is killing me. I really hope I did not over water her at all during the past few days. Ive been making sure to have a little run off when I watered but not alot. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Good luck ! I tried #1 in a pc case about 5 years ago, got some decent smoke. Did you fabricate the cab or was it purchased ? Did you get fem seeds or regulars ?

The cab itself was only 20$ from walmart, they also can snap together with other cabs so if I wanted to add a veg cab or even make it taller it will not be hard. Half the fun so far was putting the time into making it. I love to work with my hands so that was awesome for me. The seeds are all Auto Fem besides for a few freebies TSSC threw in they are photo fem. TSSC missed one of my auto's and one of my freebies. I contacted them right away and they send out the seeds they missed! (hoping they throw in a few extra to!)

Day 5-

No pictures today, nothing has changed.

I pulled back a little bit of the soil and the tap root is only about a 1/4 inch long. Should I start to worry that its not gonna take off?

Hey brother. When you get the spray bottle. Just make sure not to spray to much.
You should only spray a bit to help the soil retain its moisture. The tap root? I have not idea. I would recommend not trying to mess at all with the roots. Photo's can repair from it better but with autos, its a no go. Since they are on a timed schedule and all. Specially in the seedling stage. Be careful my friend. Try not to worry. I made some major mistakes out of anxiety for my first grow. My anxiousness is also what caused me to over water..even on my second grow in the beginning. The seedling stage is so nerve racking. Handful of grows later. Im still getting anxious on my seedlings. Guess that one takes a while, and or never goes fully away.

Yea, I hope I didn't mess up/ruin the seed by what I did. It was a total impulse wtf moment for me. I gonna give it a few more days and if nothing still im going to pop some of the bag seeds I have laying around. I should of done that in the first place for practice then went to the ones I bought. Im really hoping this Short Stuff makes it I was really looking forward to this plant! Its been one of my I gotta try for a long time now :/
