Sup Alley_Walker! I would be more than happy to share my method with you. I have posted it a couple of times in the past, but I will lay it out again here. This method is fast and effective. It took me about 30 minutes from shake to bake, and I was taking my time. I highly recommend be selective with what you use. While any trim will do the trick, I try to keep my adds to sugar leaf and buds. Grind the buds or chop them roughly with some scissors. Remember, garbage in. . . garbage out. I will for the sake of my typing fingers, not go into the dry ice extraction method. There are tons of youtube videos to show you how. I use a 120 micron bubble bag. I use 1lb of dry ice per 1oz of starter material. Stop shaking when your kief begins to take on a green hue, thats veg matter. Now on to the pressing!
Scoop your loose kief into a zip-loc sandwich style baggie. You can also use celophane wrap like my pops, but I find the baggie to be so much easier. Cram and pack it all starting from a bottom corner of the baggie. You want to form a squar cube shape. Be generous on the thickness of the shape. Once it is pressed later, it will be much thinner.
Now that you have your shape, you want to start bundling. This is just folding the excess baggie over the shape you just made. Keep folding it over itself until you are left with roughly the same square shape. Make sure its tightly done and snug. Use some celophane tape (I have plenty left over from gift wrapping) to seal it so that it does not unfold itself when you set it down. You should now have a nice little bundle of kief!
Now you need to grab some black and white newsprint. Do NOT use color print. Do NOT use glossy paper. They will outgas some nasty stuff that you don't want in your soon to be hash. Wrap your newly made bundle in the newsprint as tightly as you can. You want about 4 to 5 layers of newsprint. Seal the newsprint wrapped bundle with the same tape as before.
This part is where the magic happens. Take your paper wrapped bundle over to the sink. Turn on your faucet and soak the bundle. You want the newsprint to be fully saturated. This is important as it will protect the good stuff. Turn on your oven to 350 degrees F (I'm in the USA). Place the soaked bundle on the center of the center rack in your oven for exactly 10 minutes.
Remove the baked bundle and start to press it. I use a rolling pin. A metal pipe or baseball bat will do nicely too. Just make sure your apparatus is round. Applying as much pressure as you can comfortably, start rolling back and forth over the bundle. Keep rolling, rolling, and roll some more. When your arms begin to tire, your are done with this step.
Now that its pressed, we need to cool it off to harden it up a little bit. I usually throw the bundle in with the dry ice from earlier. If there is no more dry ice, just throw it in the freezer. Once it is cold to the touch (15 minutes in the freezer, 5 in the dry ice), cut the bundle open with a knife or razor. Stare at your hard won hash with pride. Take a picture and marvell at your newfound skill.
Last step, spark it up!!!
