Im new to the whole auto flower thing. Dont get me wrong I have grown them ( under 15 grams each outdoors), just not the "monsters" I see on here. So... heres my question. How are u guys growing these monsters ( over an oz)? last year heres what I did. Holes dug about 4 gallons, refilled with a potting mix from a local nursery, seeds started in 1/2 gallon grow bag (under t5), once 6" tall slice bags and transpant into holes. Cover seedlings with clear tote till about a foot tall. Water as needed with guano tea. They got GREAT sun. Any advice. Thanx

Outdoor vs. indoor. Indoor receives more hrs of sun per day... :204: 20 hrs a day lights on, 4 hrs a day lights off

waiting till they were 6in in a half gallon pot you could have stunted them. Autos do not like having their roots cramped and can stunt if not pot into bigger containers. Most people plant directly into the final pot.

ok then whats the best way to grow them outside in the ground. Id much rather start them inside to ensure they have a chance ? Honestly i treat auto seeds the same way I treat my clones. But last year i had a plot robbed/ found. So my idea is to grow only autos in order to already have them harvested before robbers or cops are looking..... but I need to average 1+ oz each for 24-30 plants to make it a full year. Which is on the lower end of what I normally grow.

most of the outside growers amend their soil, some also grow in pots...either way is fine. most important is the care of the root imo. i deep holes are important, autos grow a deep tap root...16" deep at least imo, w/ an OD of 12". you didn't mention nutes/feeding them...you must feed your plants, if you dont they will surly be stunted...imo this is why one should use a neutral soil and feed w/ your watering. sometimes folks rely on whats in the soil to feed their plants, this can cause deficiencies or even nute burn, depending of course what is or isn't in the soil mix.

welcome to afn!!!

You can also start them in larger pots or transplant out of the 1/2 gallon pots a lot quicker (Preferably before he tap root hits bottom), then move to ouside.
