Grow Mediums How much water for 5gal pot?

I got 5 gallon smart pots. Since it’s fairly big how much water would you add to it during vegetative and flowering stages. I’m guessing just as a seedling a sprayer will be fine until it comes up? I plan on planting my seed straight to the 5gal right after germination. Thanks

I try to keep the whole pot moist, but not saturated. You want to encourage the roots to grow. I never measure the water I put into it, just watch for runoff and check soil conditions.
