Lighting How to install reflector for CFL

63cm is about 24 inches. Depending on what type of light and pot size you might be ok. With CFL you would most likely be good just dont veg your plant very long or maybe even at all! What type of yield are you expecting/wanting? If you are looking at just doing it for very little for personal or just as a experiment I would say you are in the right area. Good luck!!

I would be real careful, these big CFL`s have some weight to them. I would be worried them curtain hooks do not have enough thread to support the weight. Including reflector your looking easily at the best part of 5kg maybe more on two small hooks not designed for the job with only 8-10mm of thread. Id say your desk is 20mm Get down town and buy two of theses with at least 17mm threads there cost about £1

Then some chain to attach to the reflector, look in poundland type shops for there hanging baskets and use this as it will be more hassle taking the plant/s to the light, rather then the light to the plant/s... in less you have a lot of unwanted books

Thanks but those net curtain hooks are really strong and I've added proper S hooks from my local Wickes. I was worried about the weight too but looks like it will hold very well now. Also is the height okay? 63 cm or so. I have more width than height so I'm going to try and bush the plant out using LST.

I've added three MDF boards to it now as well. One for the back with circular cutout for wires. One on the left hand side with passive extractor fan. Also a big hinged MDF board at the front.

Lol I actually was going to use books to elevate the height. Good idea about the chains from the hanging baskets. Will check out Home Bargains or B&M when I pop into town on the weekend.
