Live Stoner Chat Howdy everyone!

I'm not set on DWC really.. Maybe soil for my first grow is what I sould be doing. Yeah my grow space is awkward.. I was going to do a 2 plant grow when I was going to soil.. and now I'm thinking I might switch back.. hmm... Mephisto plants don't seem to grow that big and they seem to have good genetics from all the grow journals i've read.. what are you're thoughts on Mephisto, and Soil vs DWC for a first time grower. What are some medium size plants that are good yeilders? I really want to pull atleast a 100 plus grams from my grow so I have a nice spring and summer stash. Airpot vs Smartpot?

Sorry for a bajillion questions dude!

Oh Hey....a good habit to get into is use the reply in the lower right corner of a message you want to respond to. This will let the other member know you have quoted them and they will get a notification(top of the page on the right) letting them know you have responded. Just a heads up for busy members, so they see you are chatting at them ;)

DWC is a fantastic way to grow...the plants I have seen with DWC are just wow....but I fear they will outgrow your space in a major way. I like soil and especially soilless mediums(promix HP is what I use). Ive been growing outside for decades in dirt and its just natural to me. The plants will not get nearly as huge as properly grown DWC or nft systems, but they get plenty full of bud for me. ;)
I haven't grown any mephisto yet, but I have seen many amazing grow and plants from them. I cant recommend a strain from them, but I would surf the mephisto reviews and have a peek at the varie reviews. They will give you an idea on what is possible with their strains. In fact I would look also at Dutch Passion, Dinafem and Sweet Seeds Reviews while you are at it. They contains a ton of information on varied strains. Myself I am a dutch passion man. They are powerbomb genetics growing quicker than you could think possible. I wouldn't dare try to run one of the DP giant auto strains(autoultimate, gluberry, daiquiri lime) in my cabinet or I would have to put reinforcement screws in the walls or risk blowing the sides off the cabinet...hahaha
Even small strains can lead to nice yields if done properly. Its all about fitting the right amount of plants in your space to fill the space but not overcrowd the space. I just finished a run with a bunch of small plants I made mistakes on and stunted, and they put out an incredible yield of 400 grams.
I'd go airpots just for the ease of watering vs fabric pots, though I do just fine in regular 7"X7"X9"deep square pots.

Hey guys Lysergik here. I've been an avid pot smoker for about 11 years now and I recently bought my own home and want to get into growing the green herb! I've been doing lots of research and have the grow room half complete. I'm going for a DWC 2x300 marshydro 1 plant autoflower grow for my first attempt. I've bought a few books, some books on LED plant growing and am really taking all the info I can in. I came across this site and you guys seem like a real helpful and nice community! I've been using reddit but I feel a forum is better for this kind of thing.. Anyway Hello everyone!

Oh I also LOVE the Grateful Dead ;)

Thanks guys!

hey dude and welcome the AFN :welcome:. you have chosen the best place to get that first harvest. I'm on my 3rd grow now thank to AFN, its all here. When you get a journal going tag me (by placing an @ infront of my name... @Slater ) and shall jump on in for you first grow in your new groom...careful now this growing of canna can very addictive.
:pass:

I'm looking at Dutch Passion Automazar. but everyday is different at the moment haha.. I like the grows I've seen of Mephisto but I'll save that for my second grow. Dutch Passion seems to have nice yields, what would you recommend for someone who likes to smoke hybrids that are more even or slightly more Indica.

That's going to be my next bean to hit the ground some time in mid march

Awesome, Did I quote right? What would you recommend for a first time grower like myself? I'm looking at Fox Farm soil with GH flora trio nutes, What are some other nutes that my grow would benefit from? I've decided to scrap the DWC until my next grow. I'm gonna do a 2 plant Mephisto grow.. I'm liking Fantasmo Express and Ripley's OG... Does Mephisto ship to non legal states? After this grow I'll invest in a grow tent so I can do DWC on some dutch passion. I really like that the Mephisto strains I'm looking at are bout 65-75 days until harvest.. Thanks for all the awesome info dude. You all are the bomb diggity.

Sorry about the delay!
Sure did quote correctly!! Also the tag(an @ symbol in front of the username) as slater suggested works the same way and sends a notification letting the member know you are posting about them.

Id be carefull with foxfarm soil. Recently I have been reading an awful lot of PH problems with their soil. What other choices do you have? Promix HP available? Mephisto does indeed ship to the US through a US distribution. Again i cant comment on their strains as I haven't grown any yet.

The best thing to do for nutrient choice is dig around the forums and see the results of guys using GH flora or what ever else is available. I haven't tried GH yet.(ive run foxfarms, advance nutrients and green planet)

Oh wow.. I didn't know that about Fox Farm.. I can acquire pretty much any soil as long as it's available on amazon. Is Promix what you tend to use? What nutes do you tend to run on your girls?
Going to the hardware store in a couple minutes to get the last few pieces for the closet - Just waiting on my paycheck this week to order the LED's and Filter and inline fan.
Once mephisto restocks on Ripley's OG and Fantasmo Express I'll be ready to roll, meanwhile I'll continute to research so I have a problem free grow

Yes I run Promix HP and its a great neutral medium. I switch all around with nutrients. Currently Green PLanet nutrients with a few additives, but next round I am trying Dutch Pro. Green planet is a solid line and a little more affordable than Advanced nutrients. AN is a great line of nutrients, but it is expensive. Give me a shout if you need anything!

Thanks man, you'll be hearing a lot from me pretty soon! I gotta wait till I pay off some debts and I should be able to have this grow started in 3 weeks..
