Hi all,

Since I'm new to this forum, I guess I should introduce myself. Though I'm new to autos, I've done a lot of grows in the past, both hydro and soil and done organic as well as chemical nutes. Due to the fact that I moved to a much smaller place, it's been about 10 years since I've fiddled around with growing the lovely herb, but I'd like to try a few auto-strains that might help take the edge off my bad back. And I think I might actually have enough room for these new little autos. (Well, they're new to me anyway.)

I got rid of my halides and sodiums years ago when I moved, but I still have several bloom and veggie 300 watt CFLs and I'm thinking they'd probably be okay for a few little girls. If I can pull it all together, I'd also like to try femming out my own seeds. That would be a very interesting challenge.

Also, I just have to do a tiny grow, 'cuz for the first time in my entire life, starting July 1st, IT'S GOING TO BE LEGAL TO GROW 4 PLANTS FOR "RECREATIONAL USE" IN OREGON!!!

Woo Hoo!!! Granted, 4 plants isn't a whole lot of herb, but it beats the hell out of growing illegal. And Yowza, I'm really jazzed about it!

I've been lurking on AFN for a few days now, and notice that you guys all seem like pretty good folks. I hope to make a few new friends here.

So, a big HOWDY to you all. And keep tokin' on!

As a fellow Oregonian, Welcome:welcome:
LOL! Under 150 hours. Tick tick tick. Don’t get too fired up, though, not until the Feds follow. Stealth is still the word, but we can at least breathe easier.
Follow the links, get your grow on, and lets get it going!
Welcome to AFN, Brother! :peace:

Hi Redneck! Yes, stealth it shall be, 'cuz if I don't, the kids down my street would probably rip it off. Never-the-less, I think legalizing weed is waaay overdue. My little grow will be an act of personal celebration. God knows, we've all waited sooooooo long for it! I hope with all my heart that other states follow suit. Toke on!

And oh, by the way, I'm a "sistah" not brother...

Welcome :)

Same situation being in Colorado...a little grow as a personal celebration and exert my rights :)
Be careful though...it gets addictive in a hurry. Especially with the variety that this pace (auto) affords.

One suggestion (and just that)

You could add a cheap LED UFO to that CFL line-up and actually do some above average plants
right out of the gates for like an extra hundred bones. CFLs will certainly work by themselves but
a minor investment might really make a difference at harvest time. 2 cents.

Again, Welcome! You're in the right place to make sure your auto adventure prospers :)

Hi Trapper. Nice to meet you. Yes, I'd love to add some LEDs but I'm on a fixed income that makes watching my pennies a must. I'm afraid that one is gonna have to wait for a while. I know LEDs would make a huge difference on yield though.

And how be you, Briman? Thank you so for the nice welcome. And yes, this certainly IS a great forum! I've been lurking for days and reading all sorts of great threads. It's wonderful to have so much info available on autos. For me, autos are whole new ball game.

Yeah Redneck. Four. Gadz.... But you know, if I had four plants that could go from seed to done in 70 days, I could plant one seed every 2 1/2 weeks, and pull off a constant harvest act. That'd be enough to keep little ol' me in smoke. It sure wouldn't be a cash crop, but it would keep me in herb, and that's all I really want. I'm happy enough with my nose in a book and my pipe in hand. Toke on.:pass:

Yo Eekman and Gnostic! Thanks for the welcome. Gnostic, don't those STA-RANGE little qwirks in the way the new law was written, sort of make you wonder if the guys in Salem have all their synaptic connections in working order? You can smoke it on July 1, and start growing it then, but you can't buy it til later? You gotta wonder...
