Hi,

i've used CFL and LED now i've ordered a 400W air-cooled HPS :

Amazon product ASIN B00BMTA3LE
I have some noob questions !

1. Is it best to have passive intake for the air-cooling and a fan for extraction ?
2. Is there a way to use my existing extractor for the air-cooling and the tent ?

There's probably other stuff i don't know i need to know yet :)

Any help and advice greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

steely.

So my tent only has one in and one out so i'll have the hood intake and extractor intake both going out to a Y adapter then to the extractor fan.

I may need a more powerful fan but we'll see.

Cheers,

steely.

No worries i've ordered the Y adapter and a reducing ring so that i can run both through one extractor, i may just need a more powerful extractor since the airhood needs 200 m3 per hour to cool properly.

Tent is a secret jardin DS 2.5, far superior quality to the old version :

What do people think of dual-spec HPS bulbs, one came with the kit but i'm wondering if an MHD for veg would be better ?

Thanks,

steely.

Could you not put your filter on your light and extract the whole tent that way. What size is your fan and tent steely?

No, because then it isn't cool air being pulled through the light, it's warm air from inside the tent.

If you got the tent in the link you shouldn't need a y. Run the fan pushing cool air through the light not pulling. And run your filter up through the roof

i thought cool tube was just a figure of speech rather than the bulb needing to run cool.isnt fast moving air cooling anyway ?
noit sure about the mhd,but i hear them double enders are good, but then again it may have been a lesbican that told me that.

Hold on what? That Y will severely throw things off, your filter and light will have different resistance. Keep it simple. I think simple passive intake will do fine you're not pushing like 2,000 watts.

Filter>light>can fan>outside/attic.

If someone already said that sorry, I only read like 10 responses.
