DIY I am going to build my own grow light.

Very well done bro. Good use of pegboard, haha. I wanna make one like Grado mentioned and have been kind of 'drawing' one out with the idea in my head but haven't come up with the funds just yet. Soon though, it;'s fun to plan for now! :slap: for the innovative journal bro, keep contributing! I'd throw a link in the CFL thread or on the CFL forum too so folks could see this guide.

Looks pretty legit. Could do something with pvc pipe and mylar to build a support rig with a reflective panel... cheap and easily done. That way you can adjust the height of your cfl panel with rope.

Oh hey, Grado, you know I mentioned the rope in the first post, and then forgot about it. That is why I put the eye bolts in. I will rig a pully system when it goes into the new closet. This room is only gonna be available for another 10 days or so. I saw not a good reason to hook up the ropes until I do that, I didn't want to try to put in a screw eye into the ceiling for ten days. It is kind of like the dremel thing. lol. The unit hopefully one day have a case built around it. But maybe that is pipe dreams. just joking.
Thanks for looking too.

How about aluminum piping? would go right into the eye bolts, and the bolts are already long enough. 1/2 inch pipe. yes no?

Somehow I missed you Goodie, musta posted at the same time or sumpin' thanks for checking it out. Thinking maybe a sheet metal box, to complete the professionalism. I think I coulda bought three hdro farm 125 cfl's with reflectors when all is said and done, lol.

I am appreciative of the rep slap my friend, a thousand thank you's.

Okay, now, let us just see. If I had some sheet metal, sheet metal bender thingy, and a pop rivit gun, oh and a sheet metal shears. Wonder how much that would cost?

But if the EEK_PRO 350 goes global, could I keep up with demand?

Bye for now

Most cabs dont need to be bulletproof, just reflective... pvc doesnt weigh or cost much, easier to transport and cut to length. but work with what you got. Doin' great so far.

In all actuality, I think you may have something here! Even light distribution, airy hole covered peg board for air circulation and bright! Very cool hope you keep it cool! I so need to dig out some pictures of my attempt at this.... Lets see!

I would love to see those pictures of that light Alley, whenever you can find the time.

Just when you thought this thread was dead. I have an electrical question. Mogul sockets? Anyone know what about or how a mogul socket works? does it need a separate ballast? Please, anything you know that would tell me if it was cost effective to run these bulbs or take them back to the store and then order something that fits? If I order say a 125 watt grow light, is it going to have a mogul base socket?

Thank you for you help
