Hello I'm new to growing and I just got:big devil XL red versionauto candy kush auto and blue pyrimid auto and I want to know pretty much everything I need to, to get started such as what is the best medium, what's the best nutes and if you have had any experience with these please share I need to learn

First thing, there is no best. It's a question of what works for you.

Are you going to use a tent, a closet, what? And whats the size of it?
The cost of this can add up fast, what's the budget?

Are you a gardener, or are you new to growing?

How many plants you want to grow, what material do you already own, are you experienced....
Give us some more details pls!
Welcome to the AFN show !

Ok well I live in Australia, I don't have any materials yet budget doesn't matter ill be growing outside I've already got a good place for that. So what do you reckon?

And I'm looking to just start with growing 2 or 3 of them and see how it goes for now

What's your dirt like? What is available for compost?
What's the high temps and low temps going to be?
What organic fertilisers can you get there?
Can you get liquid fish fertiliser?

Dirt tends to be sandy or clay. You need to know a little about it.
Go to a gardening store, it doesn't have to be one that caters to pot growers.
Right now you want basic gardening products, and you need basic gardening skills.
Your local library prob has a gardening book. You know people that garden,
ask them what they do.

Edit, I wouldn't use molasses outside. I'd worry it would attract bugs.

Dirts pretty crappy, I can get worm castings chicken or cow manure
Temps range from 30 to 45 this time of year
Not to sure on the organic ferts that are available but I can get fish ferts is that what you recommend?

Yeah I was just thinking of getting this organic seed raising soil, what do you think of that? Cause I'm growing in 20 gallon pots what do you also think about growing in them?
I have a little bit of experience in plants, I have several bonsais and have grown a little bit but I need to know as much as I can about these auto flowering seeds

I'm from Australia Sydney too.

Photoperiod plants require a change in shorter daylight hours to begin to produce buds. So if you're growing outdoors you need somewhere between 16-18 hours of daylight for at least 1-2 months to let the plant go into its vegetative state, this is just where the plant produces leaves, stems & whatnot to further production of buds (known as the flowering stage). When the days get shorter the plant begins to produce bud colas and pack on weight before its harvested.

Autoflowering plants are a god-send. They do not require any changes in light to flower. Autoflowering plants have a timed-hormone mechanism - this just means that when the plant reaches a certain size (beyond our control, we can't tell how big it's going to get before it flowers) it will simply begin to produce buds that we can harvest. Autoflowers are a god-send to Australian growers because we have no frost here or snow which means we can do 4-6 grows a year easily. Some autoflowers can yield 200+ grams while others can only yield 20-50 grams. The issue with autoflowers is you will need to get yourself a Indica dominant strain to tolerate some of the heat we get during the summer, for winter grows you can do both Indica & Sativa dominant strains. I prefer Indica as it generally is easier to grow and yields more.

As for medium. I suggest you do not plant directly into the soil. Most/all of Australian soil is highly acidic and will kill marijuana. You should purchase some high quality soil, mixed with perlite and make sure the soil has no added fertilizers or time-release nutrients.

For nutrients i highly recommend Seasol Powerfeed (Can be purchased from your local Bunnings). You should start the plant on 1/8th of the recommend strength, then work your way up to 1/4th and 1/2 then 1/1 (all 1-2 weeks apart).

In-relation to your pot-size. 20 gallon is excellent. It will give your autoflowers (or photoperiod) plants enough space to make an excellent and strong root-system. If you're growing autoflowers in that much of a size, expect a 130-160 day grow. Bigger root system = longer for vegetative growth. But in the end, bigger root system = more buds = higher yield.
