I'm nearing the end of my first grow and I think I may have waited too long to harvest. I have a DP Think Different and a Big Buddah Cheese. Both are day 77 today. The Cheese trichomes are cloudy, very little amber. The TD is ambering up - big time!

Should I flush with PH'd water and cut them both? If so, how do I do that? Just irrigate a couple of times with PH adjusted water? Do I have to wait a few days after flush?

Geez. I thought I had this figured out but, being a total noob... I could really use some advice! Thanks AFN!

If its truly organic you don't need to flush or want to its bad for your Soil

Thanks Panda. I remember reading that a flush isn't required if you are organic (which I am, soil had zero nutes and I've only used the vegan nutes from GH). So, I guess I'll put them both in the dark for a day or so then chop??

I usually do two days in dark makes plant consume more chlorophyll also try to get humidity down as much as possible during this time It should help produce more thc.

Ive also been reading about cold shocking them during this process to produce more thc but have never tried myself maybe some else that has will pop in.

With the PH water for flushing I don't PH mine , to my way of thinking it will lock out nutrients and the plant will use what it has in store , TaNgs doe's not ph his water so there must be a very good reason not to .

Hey Jane, just a heads up. You can always wait for the Cheese to amber up more, depending on whether you like a head high, or more body, (couch lock), stone. Of course, this is a strain dependent thing too. If you already know this, my apologies :peace:

If your plants are almost ready to chop, cut all watering now. They will go without additional water for a week or two depending heat etc. You can let them die of thirst is my favourite way of ending a grow.
Worst that can happen is extra resin build up on the leaves(which is a bonus).

Hydro growers pushing volumes of nutes need to flush otherwise the buds will have a nutes influenced taste. You can flush with mollasses or feed the last weeks with mollasses to get a honey taste in the buds.

Enjoy your rewards. :)

Thanks Panda for the tips!!!

I have humidity in the tent down to 50% (but I have seedlings in there too so...probably not good for them). I think I will move the harvest-ready plants inside - to the back of my closet. It's totally dark and good RH, etc... Problem is, I have a 12 year old daughter who is in and out of my space all of the time, so maybe not - they are so aromamatic! It's been raining here for several days so it's humid, like 90 - 100% everywhere in my house and garage. Haven't checked the attic yet...
