I suppose these are sold as an alternative to t5s.

slightly more lumens output for the same wattage - 17000 lumenns from 220 watts - but much more compact than an equivalent t5 fitting - less than half the size.

I have just bought a couple of fitting to try over my seedlings - not exactly these, must similar -

I have Philips horticultural pl-l 55w tubes to go in them.

Does anyone have any experience of these lights?

I havn't seen these before. It doesn't say what spectrum the bulbs are.The other thing is yousay there there more compact but that defeats the purpose being you won't get the same coverage of a bigger light and therfore less plants.I have a t5 eight bulb four foot light and it puts out 40,000 lumens at a little over 400 watts. You should always stick with a well known grow light and ask questions befoere you buy .If you already bought them I guess you will have to use them.Ihope they work for you, and only time will tell.Let us know how they work for you.

I used these up until last year, Little Badger. I had two 55w bulbs in a space about 2 x2 x1 ft. I had a blog on AFN with my grows but the blogs disappeared a while ago and my old account disappeared too, so there's no records or photos left. Great bulbs - chuck out a lot of light and I think with more penetration than CFLs. Very economical and don't put out much heat - I could vent my space with a 120cm PC fan. I'd use them again, but indoor growing is currently not possible for me.

My bulbs weren't horticultural - they were phillips warm white (2700K, I think).

They look nice mate, reasonable price too.and if you have the Phillips horicultural tubes you should be set bro

Hey man. I have a light from HTG supply that I used to use and it works great. Packs a super punch for it's size, but watch the heat IME. Hotter than the T5s for sure, more like cfls or so. But I know for a fact they are great lights to grow with either way so officially feel free with those. I have a two foot four bulb that is like 20,000 lumens and 220 watts if I remember correctly.

Take care. :D

No,being more compact doesn't defeat the purpose - the point is that I have a fixed space to illuminate - about 6' x 2'
i can fit 3 of these in that space = 52000 lumens
I can only fit one 4' t5 fitting in the same space.
All the 4' 4 tube t5 fittings I saw were around 16000 lumens, and the 8 tube ones around 32 - 35000 lumens.
Even if you did manage to find a 4' t5 fitting with 40000 lumen output,I still have considerably more light than you.
Dont mean to sound argumentative - but I looked hard at t5 lights and thought these looked better for me - each to their own - I looked at the specs on paper, and made my choise - maybe they are sh*t lights - will let you know :)
my tubes are 2700k
